No Special Reason
Hey there! I didn’t get much time for blogging last week. We had a family day on Monday at the San Antonio Zoo, and then I never could seem to get my week on track. Just one of those weeks. But I’m back this week and playing along with a fun challenge over at Global Design Project. This week’s challenge is to CASE (copy and selectively edit/share everything, depending on who you ask) the brilliant Kylie Bertucci. This is the card we are CASEing:
I love this card! I’ve actually CASEd it before, but I don’t think I even have pictures of the other card I made. This time I decided to use the stamps and the layout that Kylie used in her card.
I’m so in love with the Special Reason bundle. And that says so much for this stamp set, because I really do not go for the flower sets much at all. But there’s just something really special about this whole bundle and all the different stamps and pieces in it.
My card base is Island Indigo (4.25″x5.5″), and the strips on either side of the white panel are Copper Foil Sheets (I cut them about 3/8″ x 5.5″, but some of each strip is hidden behind the Whisper White panel). The Whisper White is 3″x5.5″. I don’t actually have any flowers stamped directly on the white panel. They’re all glued on or stuck on with Dimensionals.
The large flowers are done in Mint Macaron and Flirty Flamingo, and the smaller flower is stamped in Island Indigo. I used the matching framelits to cut them out. Then I used the intricate negative dies and the same framelits to cut out the copper flowers. Finally, I cut out the leaves with the detailed leaf dies in Whisper White.
Before I glued down the flowers, I stamped the sentiment in Mint Macaron and stamped some splatters from the Swirly Bird stamp set in Mint Macaron (stamped off first) and Island Indigo (also stamped off).
If you’re recreating this card, the order I glued everything down in is: white leaves, large copper flower (only glue down the bottom half of the flower so the top pops up a little), small Island Indigo flower, small copper flower (again only glue down the bottom half), Mint Macaron flower, and then the Flirty Flamingo flower (on Dimensionals).
To finish off the front of the card, I added some droplets to the flowers using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. I was really excited when I showed my husband, and he said, “Hey, the flowers look wet, like they have dew drops on them.” “That’s what I was going for!”
I finished off the inside of the card with a Mint Macaron flower and the sentiment stamped in Island Indigo.
I hope you like my card! Thanks for stopping by!
