Hi, and welcome to the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop! This is a monthly hop with friends around the world; you’re currently visiting Sarah Fleming in the USA. This month’s theme is our favorite products that carried over from any of last year’s catalogs to the new annual catalog.
I have so many favorites carrying over, but I decided to go with the Cool Treats stamps and matching Frozen Treats framelits, because I adore them and haven’t shown them much love at all. And then for the sentiment on the front of the card, I used the Sunshine Sayings stamps and the coordinating Sunshine Wishes thinlits.
But I’m also SO in love with the new catalog that I just had to mix it up and use some of the new stuff, too.
My card base is Thick Whisper White. I stamped the base with Berry Burst, Emerald Envy, and Soft Sky. Then I added a strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, punched with the new Ticket Tear Border Punch. Over that I added a strip of Emerald Envy, embossed using the new Ruffled Dynamic embossing folder. I punched a 2″ circle of the glimmer paper and glued that down, then did my focal panel.
The focal panel is the new (returning from years ago) Glossy Cardstock. I’m so in love with this stuff! I used the Ink, Spray, & Smash technique with Soft Sky, Melon Mambo, Emerald Envy, and Pacific Point reinkers. I’m always amazed how the colors come out with this technique. The Melon Mambo mixed with the Pacific Point and came out looking like Berry Burst! After it was dry, I cut out the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes framelits.
I stamped and cut the ice cream cones, then stamped the Emerald Envy ice cream scoop and cut it out. I cut the Berry Burst ice cream from one of the ombre sheets in the Color Theory designer series paper stack.
For the word cool, I used the Sunshine Wishes thinlits. I cut the “co” and another “o” from the “congrats” die, then cut the “l” from the “love” die, first out of Whisper White, then out of Emerald Envy. I glued the two layers together, slightly offset, then put them on the glossy background with Mini Dimensionals (cut in half, because these words are so thin that even the baby Dimensionals are too big!).
I finally glued some of the new Iridescent Sequins on.
I stamped the inside with the Cool Treats stamps. Festive!
I hope my card has inspired you to mix the old and the new together for extra fun. You are currently visiting Sarah Fleming in the USA. Please see the list below & hop through all of the people on the list to see all of our projects. You don’t want to miss any!
I am taking signups for my Paper, Ribbon, and Embellishments shares right now. Check out the details here (including the Stampin’ Up! videos that show all of the paper).
