Hey there! I got a lot of crafting and a little cleaning done this weekend, because we got hit with a bit of a tropical storm, so we’re hunkered down and avoiding the floods.
I got a chance to make a card for the Global Design Project color challenge. What fun colors!
I decided to see what these colors would look like as a starry night, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! I use the Stamping Sponges for most of my sponging, because I get the best results with those. So I keep a little wedge for each color. I sponged Night of Navy at the top of the background, then sponged Bermuda Bay below that. Then I blended the two colors for quite a while until I was happy with them — this is why it looks like I have three shades of blue. The shade in the middle is a mix of the two blues. Then I sponged Flirty Flamingo below the Bermuda Bay. I didn’t blend Bermuda Bay and Flirty Flamingo as much — just a little. Then I went back over all of the sponging with a damp baby wipe to smooth it out a little more.
I cut the moon and stars out with the Card Front Builder Dies (available now, and they even come in a bundle with the gorgeous Carols of Christmas stamp set) and put a strip of Champagne Foil Sheets (available September 1) behind the cutout. The sentiment is from the Holiday Catalog (which starts Friday!!), from the Merry Little Labels stamp set. I covered everything but the sentiment and little stars with washi tape before inking the stamp, then removed the washi before stamping.
For the snow, I spread Embossing Paste onto the Shimmery White cardstock and smoothed it around a few times until I liked the look. I cut the trees out of Thick Whisper White (it takes embossing paste better than regular Whisper White) with the Card Front Builder Dies, then spread Embossing Paste on. I let it dry just a little, then sprinkled on Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
Here’s the inside of the card. Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful card! Love the background and the way you created snow with embossing paste and glitter.
