About Me

Sarahfleming1 Hello! My name is Sarah Fleming, and I'm a paper addict living in central Texas. I'm an independent demonstrator for Stampin' Up! and love to teach others how to make lovely paper projects. I always have ink-stained fingers (I'm okay with that). I also knit. If you're in the USA, I'd love to be your demonstrator!

Happiest Mountain Ride

Stampin' Up! One For All, Picture Perfect Birthday, Waterfront stamps with Everyday Label Punch and Glitter Enamel Dots - Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Good morning! I have so many cards to blog, so hopefully this will be a full week of blogging here at PTD. First up is this card for our “Summer Fun” challenge at Stamp, Ink, Paper. There is a giveaway for our top three winners this week, so make sure to play along!

If you know me well, you know that summer is Not My Thing. I hibernate from roughly April until November. I’m pretty sure I was born in the wrong state. However, there is lots of fun to be had in summer in the mountains, where the heat is not too horrid. And I was really happy when I remembered that, because until I thought of mountains, I was really struggling with this challenge! Ha. But after I thought of that, this card came together really quickly (for me). The Waterfront stamp set makes quick work of scenery!

Stampin' Up! One For All, Picture Perfect Birthday, Waterfront stamps with Everyday Label Punch and Glitter Enamel Dots - Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

For my Summer Fun card, I wanted to start with this silhouette of the girl riding her bike. But I didn’t want the full image, which includes a sentiment, so I covered that in washi before inking the stamp with StazOn, then removed the washi and stamped the girl. By the way, I have a hard time getting a complete image on solid stamps with StazOn, so I used my Stamparatus and stamped her twice. Then I filled in the scene around her. I did the dirt road, mountains behind the forest, and dirt behind the trees around the lake in Crumb Cake. The lake is Coastal Cabana, and the trees are Shaded Spruce (full-strength and stamped off). I went over the stamped lake a tiny bit with a damp Aqua Painter, just to smooth it out a little.

The sentiment is from Picture Perfect Birthday, stamped in Coastal Cabana and punched with the Everyday Label punch, and I finished the card off with some Tea Room Ribbon and Glitter Enamel Dots, both in Coastal Cabana.

I hope you like my card and are inspired to play along with the challenge over at Stamp, Ink, Paper!

Everything I used on my card can be found in my online Stampin’ Up! store. Make sure to use the June Host Code (below) if your order is below $150, and I’ll send you extra goodies! If your order is over $150, don’t use the Host Code — make sure to claim your Stampin’ Rewards when you check out, and you’ll still get my free gift!
