About Me

Sarahfleming1 Hello! My name is Sarah Fleming, and I'm a paper addict living in central Texas. I'm an independent demonstrator for Stampin' Up! and love to teach others how to make lovely paper projects. I always have ink-stained fingers (I'm okay with that). I also knit. If you're in the USA, I'd love to be your demonstrator!

Ink & Inspiration: Birthday Surprise

Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop! We are a small group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators around the world who love to share our creativity with others. You’re currently visiting Sarah Fleming in the USA.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Day watercolor card with Cake Soiree, Stitched All Around, Graceful Glass Vellum - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts - #IIBH

This month’s theme is birthdays! I love making birthday cards! Do I ever get around to sending them? Nah. But they’re fun to make. My card base is Real Red, and the little background stamping on the left is from Stitched All Around stamps with Real Red Ink. The gorgeous black-embossed vellum is a sheet from the Graceful Glass Vellum. This paper is fantastic as is, or you can color it to add your own touch.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Day watercolor card with Cake Soiree, Stitched All Around, Graceful Glass Vellum - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts - #IIBH

The main feature here is the lovely butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set. I heat embossed it in white, then watercolored using reinkers in Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Rich Razzleberry. If you want really saturated colors like these, squeeze a drop or two of reinker onto a clear block, use that as your paint tray, and use less water than you usually would for watercoloring. The sentiment is from Cake Soiree, and I embellished with Black Mini Sequin Trim and Rhinestones.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! Make sure you follow the hop all the way back to me so you can see everyone else’s projects. The designers on this team are so talented — you won’t want to miss any of the blogs!

Everything I used on my card can be found in my online Stampin’ Up! store. Make sure to use the June Host Code (below) if your order is below $150, and I’ll send you extra goodies! If your order is over $150, don’t use the Host Code — make sure to claim your Stampin’ Rewards when you check out, and you’ll still get my free gift!
