About Me

Sarahfleming1 Hello! My name is Sarah Fleming, and I'm a paper addict living in central Texas. I'm an independent demonstrator for Stampin' Up! and love to teach others how to make lovely paper projects. I always have ink-stained fingers (I'm okay with that). I also knit. If you're in the USA, I'd love to be your demonstrator!

International Blog Highlight: Bright Adventure

Hello! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. We are being highlighted by the wonderful Kylie Bertucci, and you can VOTE for my card. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop in August, so please do go vote for me. I’d love to be in the top 10 blog hop again next month!

Stampin' Up! handmade travel card using Sea of Textures Swirly Bird and Tropical Thinlits, featuring the new Brights collection - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

This month our theme is Travel. I decided to make a tropical adventure card, and I think it fits the theme quite well. To make the background, I embossed the fishing net from Sea of Textures and the splatters from Swirly Bird in gold on a Thick Whisper White card base.

For the focal point, the black leafy cutout is from the Tropical Thinlits dies. After I cut out the negative spaces, which is what the die does, I used the Layering Squares framelits to cut the border. I initially intented to have a full watercolored background featuring the four bright colors pictured here — Mango Melody, Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape, and Coastal Cabana. But once the watercoloring was done, I decided to cut it down to size with the same Layering Squares framelit that I used to cut the border of the tropical leaves. So then I went back and did all the gold embossing on the card base. I finished the card off with a sentiment from Sea of Textures and some Gold Mini Sequin Trim.

Thanks for visiting my blog today; I hope you like my card and that it brightened up your day! Make sure you head over to Kylie’s blog to vote for my card and check out the other amazing projects in the gallery. I would love to be chosen to do the next international blog hop!

Everything I used on my card can be found in my online Stampin’ Up! store. Make sure to use the July Host Code (below) if your order is below $150, and I’ll send you extra goodies! If your order is over $150, don’t use the Host Code — make sure to claim your Stampin’ Rewards when you check out, and you’ll still get my free gift!
