Christmas Delivered

Stampin' Up! Hand Delivered hostess stamp set with Blended Seasons stamps, Animal Expedition paper, Stampin' Blends alcohol markers - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Good morning! I actually have two posts for you today. The other one will be up later in the afternoon. For my first post, I’m going to show you how to stretch your non-seasonal stamps to Christmas and other occasions.

I’ve had this adorable stamp set, Hand Delivered, for a few weeks now and finally had a chance to ink it up last week. But I was already well into fall and Christmas crafting, so of course I had to try to make a Christmas card with it. And it worked! All I needed was a festive color scheme, and voila.

This is a builder stamp set, and I stamped everything with my Stamparatus to make sure I got the images lined up perfectly. The girl’s skirt and legs are one stamp, the stripes on her skirt are another stamp, and her torso holding the balloons is a third stamp. I stamped the girl and skirt in Memento Tuxedo Black, and I stamped the stripes on her skirt in Cherry Cobbler. I colored the balloons with Cherry Cobbler (Light and Dark) and Granny Apple Green (Light and Dark) Stampin’ Blends. I got a little extra color variance by using the Color Lifter, too. I am not the best at coloring, but it’s passable. I covered the balloons in Wink of Stella after everything was colored. I colored her top and shoes with a Dark Pool  Party Stampin’ Blends. I did the skirt in Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler. For her arms and legs I used Petal Pink Light and Dark. Finally, I used Light Smoky Slate along with the Color Lifter (to dilute it to an even lighter Smoky Slate) along the left edge of everything and under her shoes to give a little shadow dimension.

I mounted the Whisper White piece on Cherry Cobbler cardstock, then added strips of Animal Expedition paper and Gold Glimmer Paper along the left edge. I stamped the sentiment (from the new, limited-time Blended Seasons stamp set) in Granny Apple Green and popped that up on Dimensionals. I used one Dimensional on each end and two stacked Dimensionals in the center of the banner. I finished the card off with Whisper White Baker’s Twine. You could turn this into a fall card by coloring the balloons red, orange, green, yellow, and even brown and adding a fall greeting. For Halloween, you could color them green, purple, orange, and even black (we are getting Basic Black Stampin’ Blends in the Holiday Catalog!) and add a Trick or Treat or a Happy Halloween. You get the picture.
