Merry Christmas Trees

Good morning! I hope you’re doing well today. I am good. I had a nasty migraine again yesterday after we got home, but hopefully those will be gone soon. Oh! Big news! On Friday we found out we are having a boy! And he looks healthy and all that jazz. We are currently calling him Ron Swanson Fleming (not his real name).

On to the card. Today our challenge at Stamp, Ink, Paper is a Tic Tac Toe challenge. Choose a Tic Tac Toe (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal), and design your project around that. I went with the diagonal combo of Metal, Plaid, and Twine. We’d love for you to play along with the challenge! Head over to the blog and check out all the inspiration from the design team!

I took my layout for this card from a card in the Holiday Catalog that showcases the Festive Farmhouse Suite.

Stampin' Up! Festive Farmhouse Suite

I’ve loved this card ever since I first saw it and have wanted to CASE it in some way.

I took my colors from the plaid designer series paper that I chose from the Festive Farmhouse paper pack. So I started with a Cherry Cobbler card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″). I embossed a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Gray Granite cardstock with the Corrugated Dynamic embossing folder and glued that down. Then I added a 5″ x 1″ Cherry Cobbler banner (the ends are flagged with the Banner Triple Punch), followed by the plaid paper, which measures 4″ x 3″ and is popped up on Dimensionals.

I stamped the lovely detailed tree from the Winter Woods stamp set in Versamark, then embossed it using Silver embossing powder and the Heat Tool. I did this twice, as you can see. I cut both trees out using the coordinating In the Woods framelits (you can get the stamp set and framelits in a bundle together for 10% off). I added the trees using Dimensionals, Mini Dimensionals, and glue. I stamped the sentiment, from the beautiful host stamp set Warm Hearted, in Cherry Cobbler ink, on a strip of Whisper White. I flagged the right end of the banner with the punch again. I finished the card off with a Galvanized Button and some Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine (love this stuff!).

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you like my card and have been inspired in some way.
