About Me

Sarahfleming1 Hello! My name is Sarah Fleming, and I'm a paper addict living in central Texas. I'm an independent demonstrator for Stampin' Up! and love to teach others how to make lovely paper projects. I always have ink-stained fingers (I'm okay with that). I also knit. If you're in the USA, I'd love to be your demonstrator!

Fall Shaker Card

Stampin' Up! handmade fall thank you card using Country Home stamps, Country Lane paper, Detailed Leaves Thinlits - shaker card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Good morning! I hope you’re doing well. I’m mostly over my face cold from last week, and we survived my last-minute crafting of Halloween costumes on Saturday. And today I have a fun shaker card for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Trick or Treat challenge (the Trick or Treat challenge is Halloween or Fall cards).

My card base is Real Red, 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″. The designer series paper is from the Country Lane paper, and I cut the circle using a die from the Layering Circles framelits. I taped the chicken wire to the back of the paper, then added a 3-3/4″ square piece of Window Sheet  behind that. I added Foam Adhesive Strips around the shaker and all around the back of the designer series paper. I added the sequins to the center of the circle, then attached a piece of Whisper White cardstock (3-3/4″ square) behind the shaker area. Then I attached the whole shaker to the card base with more foam strips and glue.

To decorate the front of the card, I cut three leaves from Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Cajun Craze cardstock using the Detailed Leaves thinlits dies. I stamped the sentiment in Crushed Curry on Whisper White cardstock, then punched the ends of the sentiment with the Banner Triple Punch. I distressed the edges of the sentiment banner with the edge of my Snips. I added the Galvanized Clip and the Braided Linen Trim for final touches.

I will have a tutorial video for this card later in the week. Make sure you head over to Stamp Ink Paper and play along with our challenge!

Everything I used on my card can be found in my online Stampin’ Up! store (the Snowfall Thinlits and White Velvet paper will be available on November 1st). Make sure to use the October Host Code (below) if your order is below $150, and I’ll send you extra goodies! If your order is over $150, don’t use the Host Code — make sure to claim your Stampin’ Rewards when you check out, and you’ll still get my free gift!
