Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons and Christmas Pines stamps with Seasonal Layers framelits and Stitched Shapes framelits - handmade Christmas winter holiday card - snowflakes - Versamark resist on glossy cardstock - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Good morning! I came across this card in my craftroom a couple of weeks ago and realized that, even though I made it last year, I had neither blogged it or sent it to anyone. Oops. Anyway, I am partial to this card and this technique, so I thought better late than never.

My card base is Melon Mambo, 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″. The Glossy White cardstock (the background) is 4″ x 5-1/4″. On the background, I stamped the snowflakes from Colorful Seasons in Versamark ink and let the ink dry and sink into the cardstock. Then I sponged Bermuda Bay ink all over the glossy cardstock. This technique is called Versamark Resist — it’s like emboss resist, except for no embossing. The Versamark resists the sponged ink and lets the design show through. Fun, right?

I stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo and then stamped the little tiny snowflakes in Bermuda Bay; these are from the Christmas Pines stamp set. I cut the sentiment out with one of the squares in the Stitched Shapes framelits and added that to the background. Finally, I attached Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to Bermuda Bay and Whisper White cardstock and cut out snowflakes using the Seasonal Layers thinlits. I added those to the card and finished it off with some basic Rhinestones.
