Good morning, and Happy New Year! I hope you had fun ringing in the New Year and that 2019 is your best year ever! Today I have a super feminine no-line watercolor card to share. This is my design team card for this week’s thank you-themed Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge. We would love for you to join us this week, so head over to the challenge blog and play along!
My card base is Calypso Coral, 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″. The background is Whisper White, 4″ x 5-1/4″. I stamped this piece with the Crackle Paint background stamp. This was my first play with this stamp, and I know it’s going to be a big favorite! I mounted the stamp on the Stamparatus, inked it up with Calypso Coral, set the cardstock down on it, poked it in a couple of places (rather than pressing and rubbing the whole piece of cardstock) to get kind of a spotty, faded look.
The floral bouquet is from the Wonderful Romance bundle. I love this bundle much more than I expected to. I am not the best at no-line watercoloring, but I actually liked the way this one turned out. I stamped the bouquet in Sahara Sand (stamped off first) on watercolor paper, then watercolored the bouquet with Calypso Coral ink, Old Olive ink, Crushed Curry ink, and an Aqua Painter. I found that doing the flowers first made it easier to figure out the leafy situation. After I watercolored the bouquet, I cut it out with the matching framelit from the Wonderful Floral dies.
I stamped the Thank You from the Humming Along stamp set and cut it out with one of the new Stitched Rectangles framelits — these are an absolute must-have from the new catalog! I finished the card off with a bow made from the Calypso Coral 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon and clear drops from the Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets.
I added a piece of Whisper White to the inside and stamped this lovely leaf in Old Olive.
Thanks for stopping by today!
