Beachy Waterfront

Stampin' Up! Waterfront with In the City host stamp set - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hello! I hope your Friday night is going well. All is well here. I was so productive today that I can’t even with myself right now. Of course all the productivity was housewife-related, so no crafting. Just so much Costco. And podcast listening, tbh. That’s who I am now. I listen to podcasts.

Stampin' Up! Waterfront with In the City host stamp set - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

This card is almost entirely stamping. I stamped this little beachy scene using the Waterfront stamp set. The colors are listed below. The sentiment comes from the In The City host stamp set. Such a fun little stamp set that goes perfectly with Waterfront. I added some Glitter Enamel Dots for a little extra something. And that’s it!

Birthday Brusho For You

Stampin' Up! Birthday Wishes for You with Brusho background - handmade birthday card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hey there! I hope you’re having a good day. I’ve finally finished catching up on budget stuff and actually get to spend some time in craft therapy today, so I’m pretty excited. Speaking of bad segues, I’m also pretty excited about the background on this card! Yes, it’s Brusho again. Can you tell that I really love playing with this? I get it out and just make a bunch of backgrounds at once and then grab one when I need a quick card.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Wishes for You with Brusho background - handmade birthday card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

I used Prussian Blue and Yellow for this background. I sprinkled them on, spritzed a lot, sprinkled some more, and let the colors play together. I love the greens that came through!

After the background was completely dry, I embossed the sentiment from Birthday Wishes For You, added ribbon and Glitter Enamel Dots, and attached the piece to the card with Tear & Tape. So easy and effective.

Waterfront Friends

Good morning! If I actually went to bed on time last night like I planned to (unlikely), then when this posts, I will be finishing up my first workout of the new year. It’s kind of a big IF because it requires getting out of bed at 5:30 a.m., and LOL. But if I don’t, I have to go in the evening, and really it’s best to just get it over with. Like a root canal. #workingoutisnotmyfavorite

Stampin' Up! Waterfront stamp set - handmade thank you card - Occasions 2018, FREE Sale-A-Bration ribbon - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Anyway. Today, I’m showing you one of my surprise Must Haves from the new Occasions catalog. Seriously, when I saw this in the catalog, I skipped right by it. My second time through the catalog, I thought it looked neat but wasn’t sure I could make anything with it. And then I had some Stampin’ Rewards to spend, and everyone was raving about it, and I loved the little trees and the sentiments, so I decided to get it and try it out. I’m so glad I did! It’s a brilliant stamp set, and I have barely started playing with it.

This card took me about 15 minutes to make. I’m not exaggerating! The stamp set does all the work to make this beautiful handpainted-looking scene. It has all these different bits and elements, and you just kind of put them together. I’m So Bad at scenic cards and could not believe I made this.

Stampin' Up! Waterfront stamp set - handmade thank you card - Occasions 2018, FREE Sale-A-Bration ribbon - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

I first stamped the mountains in Sweet Sugarplum (the bottom mountains), stamped twice, side by side. Then I traced them onto a sticky note and cut out a very rough and quick mask, placed the mask over the Sweet Sugarplum mountains,  then stamped the Rich Razzleberry mountains. I realized I had my mask too high, and that’s why I have the white space between the mountains. But then I decided it looked like snow and I liked it, so I kept it. Under the mountains, I stamped the Crumb Cake sand? beach? bank? Then I stamped the lake in Pool Party, and a shadow on the lake in Bermuda Bay. I stamped the grassy area around the lake in both Crumb Cake and Lemon-Lime Twist (both colors on top of each other) for kind of a darker LL Twist. Then in the foreground, I stamped grass in only Lemon-Lime Twist. I stamped the trees in Tranquil Tide and the sun in Crushed Curry. The sentiment I stamped in Bermuda Bay. Then I just tied around some of the FREE Sale-A-Bration Shimmer Ribbon and glued the scene down to the card base. BOOM. So fast and easy! I’m in love.

I really love the sentiments in this set. I continued the sentiment from the front and stamped the rest inside the card in Bermuda Bay. Then I stamped the little shadow again in Pool Party.

The theme for this month’s blog highlight is Change of Life Circumstances. New babies, graduation, retirement, wedding, etc. I decided to show you a little baby gift set.

Stampin' Up! handmade baby gift set using Moon Baby and new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers - heat embossing - Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlight - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

This past weekend I co-hosted a baby shower for an expectant mama at church, and one of the activities that the guests did was to fill out a card with “wishes for baby”. The cards are 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, so I made this mini accordion-style album to put all of the cards in so the mother will have them as a keepsake for her baby. I used the Moon Baby stamp set, along with the new Stampin’ Blends (see the list of colors I used at the very bottom of this post). And since the cards  (you can see the top of one of them in the next photo) are baby pink and gold, I used Pink Pirouette and gold.

I heat embossed both sentiments, and I gold embossed the Hearts & Stars Elements star.

This is how the album folds out when it’s untied.

I made a matching card, as you do. This stamp is also from Moon Baby, and I incorporated the gold and the Crushed Curry 3/8″ Mini Chevron Ribbon to match the album.
