Baby Quilt

Stampin' Up! Christmas Quilt bundle with Quilt Builder framelits and Quilt Top Embossing folder, Lemon-Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon and Silver Mini Sequin Trim - handmade baby card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

I have a sweet baby card for you today! This is another Holiday Catalog sneak peek. It’s the Quilted Christmas suite, and it was the first thing on my preorder list. As you can see, it’s not just for Christmas. I think this is one of the most versatile things in the Holiday Catalog.

I made my card using the colors from Fab Friday and the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch (I flipped the sketch upside down).

Stampin' Up! Christmas Quilt bundle with Quilt Builder framelits and Quilt Top Embossing folder, Lemon-Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon and Silver Mini Sequin Trim - handmade baby card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

I stamped the outline of the quilted piece in Melon Mambo, then the inner pieces in Lemon-Lime Twist and Flirty Flamingo. Then I cut it out with both the outline die and the die that cuts the stitching. I cut out the overlaid Melon Mambo piece with another die. There are so many coordinating dies in this set.

I embossed the Whisper White piece with the new Quilt Top embossing folder. I had a hard time deciding whether to use the embossed side or the debossed side, because they both look so great!

Stampin' Up! punch tip - Punch twice to punch a different, smaller shape - Everyday Label punch - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

I used Moon Baby for the sentiment, with the new Everyday Label punch from the Holiday Catalog. I punched the sentiment out twice, as shown. I love how you can get multiple shapes from one punch!

I finished the card with some Silver Mini Sequin Trim behind the quilted piece and Lemon-Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon.

For the inside, I stamped some stitching from the Quilted Christmas stamp set, and the sentiment from Moon Baby. The sentiment is on a punched out circle only because I tried stamping straight on the cardstock without using my MISTI. *eye roll* Yeah, I will never learn my lesson.

Make a Wish

Good morning! We got home last night from a 3-day-weekend vacation where kind of everything went wrong, but we were still glad to get away and spend time together as a family. It was a big bummer, though, when we were two hours from home and I realized I’d left my phone at a gas station where we used the bathroom. ARRRRRRGH. So that was a three hour detour. Thankfully Google, which I usually think is creepy because it knows way too much about me, was able to tell me exactly where my phone was. Google is the best.

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous with Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits , glossy cardstock, Hexagons Dynamic embossing folder

Anyway, the card I’m showing you today is one of my Display Stamper projects from OnStage in Shreveport. I made this card to showcase the new In Color Fresh Fig, glossy cardstock, the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set, and the Sweet Sugarplum 3/8″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

My card base is Thick Whisper White. The next layer is Pool Party cardstock. I embossed it with the Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder, then sponged Pool Party ink on the cardstock in various spots for some more texture. I wrapped the ribbon around that layer (taped down with Tear & Tape), then glued the Pool Party piece down.

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous with Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits , glossy cardstock, Hexagons Dynamic embossing folder

For the focal point, the bottom layer is Fresh Fig cardstock, cut with the Layering Circles framelits. On top of that is Glossy White Cardstock cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits. I used the Striped Wipe technique to make my striped piece. I love how it turned out — kind of looks like a planet? The colors I used were Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party, and So Saffron. I glued the two layers together and popped them up on Dimensionals. I cut the baby dragonflies from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper using the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits. I colored them ombre using an Aqua Painter and Pool Party ink. Those are on Dimensionals (but now I would use Mini Dimensionals).

The sentiment is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous, stamped in Fresh Fig. I finished the card off with rhinestones.

I hope you like my card today. Come back tomorrow for more!

Squee! Baby Narwhal!

Stampin' Up! Quirky Critters, embossing paste, Beautiful Bouquet bundle, Support Ribbon framelits, silver mini sequin trim - Kylie's International Blog Highlights - handmade baby card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hello, and welcome! This is my entry for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights, and you can VOTE for my cards here (I am #41). I would love to have your vote! The theme this month is BABY. I looked through my baby stamp sets and didn’t feel anything, but then I came across my new Quirky Critters stamp set, and I just had to!

I literally squealed in delight when I saw this adorable stamp set in the catalog. It has a narwhal (the unicorn of the sea) AND a sloth! Yep, top of my list.

For the background on my baby girl card, I used the new Embossing Paste mixed with Powder Pink ink refill. I love the masks that I have, but I wanted something that said baby, so I made my own mask using a Window Sheet and the strip of hearts in the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and spread the Embossing Paste through the mask onto the Soft Sky card base. Also in the background are strips of Powder Pink cardstock and Silver Glimmer Paper, some Silver Mini Sequin Trim, and a Powder Pink flower cut using the Support Ribbon Framelits.

After I stamped and cut my narwhal, I also added some flowers using the Beautiful Bouquet bundle. Finally, I topped the card off with Metallic Sequins. LOVE these!

On the inside, I stamped the sentiment from Moon Baby and some more flowers from Beautiful Bouquet. I love when I can use a non-baby set for a baby card!

I loved making the card so much that I had to make a boy card to go with it. This time I used Lemon-Lime Twist and Pool Party. And instead of my handmade mask, I used one of the masks from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. My final change was to use the Iridescent Sequins instead of the Metallics. Soooo pretty!

Which one do you like better? I think I’m all for the boy card.

Thanks for stopping by, and please go VOTE for #41 in the gallery! I’d love to participate in the top 10 winners blog hop again!

I made the baby boy card in my live Facebook video today. Watch here:

Bitty Box with Bitty Bow Gift Set

Stampin' Up! Moon Baby stamp set and Fresh Florals DSP stack - Flip Top Box at Splitcoaststampers - Pretty Label punch, In Color Bitty Bows - baby girl gift set - Creative Crew - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

My second Creative Crew project at Splitcoaststampers this month is for the Technique challenge, and I made the Flip Top Box using this tutorial, and then the bitty box looked sad and lonely, so I decided it needed a card to go with it.

The theme for the Creative Crew this month is “Promises of New Things”, and I think baby pretty much covers that! Everything’s new with babies.

I am forcing myself to make more boxes and bags, so that’s why I chose the Flip Top Box for this challenge.

I love the crayon-type box and think it would be fun to fill with either a gift card to a baby store or some tiny knitted baby booties. Or special crayons. Teething rings, etc.

Stampin' Up! Moon Baby stamp set and Fresh Florals DSP stack - Flip Top Box at Splitcoaststampers - Pretty Label punch, In Color Bitty Bows - baby girl gift set - Creative Crew - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

I used Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink, and Smoky Slate for my box (and along the way discovered that my toddler probably threw away my Powder Pink ink pad when she tossed a few of my acrylic blocks in the trash). The paper is from the new Fresh Florals paper stack (LOVE). The tag uses the Pretty Label punch and the Moon Baby stamp set. The Bitty Bow is my favorite part of the box. I can’t get enough of these teeny things!

Where the tutorial says to use an oval punch, I used the Pretty Label punch to punch out the decorative insert for the box; that way it matches the tag. Note that I curved off the pointy edges with my snips.

The matching card was so fast and easy to make!

Make sure you come back later — I have a TON of projects to show you today, because Creative Crew projects are live today, and THE NEW CATALOG HAS BEGUN!! The ordering system is down until 1 pm CDT, but then you can go crazy.

Also, I’ll be doing a special live video later today on my Facebook page to show you my top 20 items (if I can whittle it down to that many) from the new catalog, and yes, I will be able to show you the inside of the catalog! If you want to catch me live, go to my Facebook page, like it, and turn on notifications. I’m not sure whether I will go live at quiet time, when my kids are supposed to play quietly without me, or when my husband gets off work. Sometime today, depending on how the day is going!
