Hey! I’ve had this triangle box on my desk for a couple of months. I had it decorated but decided I didn’t like how it was decorated, so I un-decorated it and left it sitting there for a while. Then I suddenly grabbed it the other day, and voila. New Christmas box. This time I’m really happy with how it turned out.
The triangle box design is copied from this video by Sam Donald. She’s brilliant at boxes, and I cannot see in 3D, so I often CASE her box designs and decorate them in my own style. [Note: I use the Envelope Punch Board to round corners, and I use my Trimmer to cut and score for boxes, but you can also use the Simply Scored like Sam does.]
I wrapped the Cherry Cobbler 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon around the box, then tied it. Before tying the bow, I laid Linen Thread across the criss-crossed part of the ribbon, then tied the bow. Then I tied the Linen Thread around the bow knot once, threaded on one of the Mini Ornaments, then tied a knot in the Linen Thread. I adore these ornaments! They’re made of some kind of hard plastic or glass and just the perfect size for gift packaging.
I attached the boughs (cut from Garden Green cardstock and Silver Foil Sheets with the Pretty Pines thinlits) with the Fine Tip Glue Pen, behind the bow, then attached the sentiment from Merry Little Labels with Dimensionals (only put Dimensionals on the part of the tag that is on the top flap — you don’t want your recipient to have to destroy this beautiful box to open it! Finally, I uncurled one of the Boxwood Wreaths embellishments and attached it (using Glue Dots) to the box using Glue Dots.
The box would fit 5-6 Hershey’s Nuggets, so it would be perfect for teacher’s gifts, fancy stocking stuffers, or just a little extra something under the tree.
Thanks for stopping by today!
I am so excited to announce that my Birthday Memories Online Mega-Class is finally ready! I’ve worked on this class for two full months and have come up with 15 projects for you! The goal I had in mind for this class was to get you to use this bundle to its full potential. Which means that I want you to use your paper! (Buy a second pack of paper if you cringe at the thought of cutting into it, but do allow yourself to cut up this brilliant pack of paper.)
This class includes 2 bags, a box, a belly band, a scrapbook or shadow box page, a banner, pinwheels, and EIGHT cards! I’ve made a full-color tutorial with detailed instructions, and there are SEVEN videos.
Here’s the video where I show the projects:
I do have a kit option, but the kit only includes 6 projects. Included in the kit are 1 bag, the belly band, the scrapbook/shadow box page, the banner, and two of the cards. Note that the kit will not include your adhesive (Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals are included) or the 12×12 paper for the scrapbook page and will not include the Birthday Memories paper, as that comes in the Birthday Delivery bundle.
I’m offering three options for the class:
1) Buy the Birthday Delivery bundle from my online store (click here) before August 20th, and I will send you the tutorial for FREE. Make sure you enter a good email address when you order the bundle so I can email you the link to the tutorial. (US residents only.) If you don’t receive the tutorial link within 24 hours of purchasing the bundle, first check your spam folder, and then email me.
2) I am only offering the class kit option as an add-on if you buy either the Birthday Delivery bundle OR the PDF tutorial. The kit is $15 plus $7 priority shipping. The kit includes the materials (except the Birthday Memories paper) to make all 6 of the kit projects, plus a full box of Mini Gift Bows (a $6 value). You will need your own ink pads (I’ve used Pacific Point, Archival Basic Black, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon-Lime Twist, Sweet Sugarplum, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride, and Smoky Slate). Adhesive is not included (Dimensionals are included). I recommend Tear & Tape and Multipurpose Liquid Glue for this class, and I do give you an option to add on the Tear & Tape to your kit. Fill out the registration form to request the class kit, and I will send you a Paypal invoice. Remember you can only buy the kit if you also buy the bundle or the PDF. The cutoff to register for the class kits is August 20th. Kits will ship August 27th at the latest (some will ship earlier). (US residents only.)
3) You may buy the PDF by itself for $20. Click this button to buy it, and you will be able to download the tutorial immediately.
I hope you love the class as much as I loved making it!
My second Creative Crew project at Splitcoaststampers this month is for the Technique challenge, and I made the Flip Top Box using this tutorial, and then the bitty box looked sad and lonely, so I decided it needed a card to go with it.
The theme for the Creative Crew this month is “Promises of New Things”, and I think baby pretty much covers that! Everything’s new with babies.
I am forcing myself to make more boxes and bags, so that’s why I chose the Flip Top Box for this challenge.
I love the crayon-type box and think it would be fun to fill with either a gift card to a baby store or some tiny knitted baby booties. Or special crayons. Teething rings, etc.
I used Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink, and Smoky Slate for my box (and along the way discovered that my toddler probably threw away my Powder Pink ink pad when she tossed a few of my acrylic blocks in the trash). The paper is from the new Fresh Florals paper stack (LOVE). The tag uses the Pretty Label punch and the Moon Baby stamp set. The Bitty Bow is my favorite part of the box. I can’t get enough of these teeny things!
Where the tutorial says to use an oval punch, I used the Pretty Label punch to punch out the decorative insert for the box; that way it matches the tag. Note that I curved off the pointy edges with my snips.
The matching card was so fast and easy to make!
Make sure you come back later — I have a TON of projects to show you today, because Creative Crew projects are live today, and THE NEW CATALOG HAS BEGUN!! The ordering system is down until 1 pm CDT, but then you can go crazy.
Also, I’ll be doing a special live video later today on my Facebook page to show you my top 20 items (if I can whittle it down to that many) from the new catalog, and yes, I will be able to show you the inside of the catalog! If you want to catch me live, go to my Facebook page, like it, and turn on notifications. I’m not sure whether I will go live at quiet time, when my kids are supposed to play quietly without me, or when my husband gets off work. Sometime today, depending on how the day is going!
Remember I am taking signups for my Paper, Ribbon, and Embellishments shares right now. Check out the details here (including the Stampin’ Up! videos that show all of the paper).
You can get all of the products I showed you in my online Stampin’ Up! store today! I will have a new Host Code for June up as soon as the ordering system is back up.
