Stamp, Ink, Paper: Amazing You

Good morning! I hope you’re having a great Tuesday. Today I have another Stamp, Ink, Paper design team card to share with you. I’m the guest designer over there for February. This week we have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge going.

Stampin' Up! Amazing You with Brusho Crystal Colour watercolor powders, Celebrate You thinlits - handmade emboss resist card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

I chose the right hand column for my Tic-Tac-Toe — Embossing, Watercolor, and Word Die Cut. I later noticed that I also completed the diagonal combo of Embossing, Flowers, and Sequins. That wasn’t on purpose, though.

I made the floral background with the Amazing You stamp set. I heat embossed, then used Brusho to color the flowers and the background.

The “amazing” die cut is from the Celebrate You thinlits. I cut the word out of Whisper White cardstock twice, then out of Gold Glimmer Paper. I glued the three cuts together with the gold one on top before gluing them to the card. I finished the card off with Gold Mini Sequin Trim, Metallics Sequins, and a little strip of Island Indigo cardstock punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.

Shaky Birthday

Hello! It’s Friday, which means I get to create and to make customer thank you cards this afternoon… if my little toddler naps today. We went to her well baby checkup on Wednesday, and when I mentioned that my 2-year-old was skipping naps a lot, the doctor had the audacity to tell me that some 2-year-olds stop napping.

No. Nope. No. When my oldest child stopped napping at age 3, I knew I was being cheated. Because all the baby books and baby classes said they would nap until age 5. So she stopped at 3, of course. And then my son stopped napping at age 3, and that was really just the worst. So I’m sorry, but I do not accept that my 2-year-old is done with naps. She’s getting a later bedtime instead.

What were we talking about? Oh yeah. This super fun shaker card.

I cut a rectangle out of the Whisper White cardstock with my Stampin’ Trimmer (2-3/4″ x 3-3/4″), then cut the background piece slightly bigger. Before I glued the Window Sheet to the back of the Whisper White piece, I embossed it with the Polka Dot Basics folder. I glued a piece of a Window Sheet, slightly larger than the window, to the back of the Whisper White cardstock.

The background piece is stamped in LL Twist with the Marbled background stamp, which I just got, and which I now love. It reminds me of cake frosting. After I stamped the background, I attached Foam Adhesive Strips all the way around the edges of the background piece, careful not to leave any gaps for the shaker bits to fall out. The shaker bits come from the Party Hat Birthday bundle. I stamped the party hat stamp with all the cakes, hats, and gifts on it in all three colors, Emerald Envy, Berry Burst, and Lemon-Lime Twist. There is a coordinating die for this stamp that cuts out all the little bits. So I stamped it twice in Berry Burst and once each in Emerald Envy and LLT. The Emerald Envy and Berry Burst ones are in the shaker, and I used three of the LL Twist ones for outside the shaker. Once the shaker bits were in and situated, I attached the Whisper White piece to the background with the foam strips, then attached the whole thing to the Berry Burst card base with more foam strips and my favorite glue.

After I stamped the sentiment, I flagged one end with the Banner Triple Punch, then glued it to the card front. I added the little LL Twist bits with glue and Mini Dimensionals, then a strip of Myths & Magic Washi Tape and a strip of washi from Basics Pack 1. Then I added sequins and I was done.

Stampin' Up! Labels to Love slider box - video tutorial - treat packaging for Mentos gum - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hey! My husband bought me a new phone on Black Friday (it was seriously cheap), and one of the perks of that new phone is that I have loads more storage space now, so I can do videos more often! This is not a Facebook Live video, so I get right to it. That’s new for me. :) I hope you enjoy it.

Berry Sweet

Hi, and welcome to the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop! This is a monthly hop with Stampin’ Up! friends around the world; you’re currently visiting Sarah Fleming in the USA. This month’s theme is Something Different. A fun or fancy fold, or something besides a card. I went waaaaay out of my comfort zone and finally tackled an idea that’s been floating around in my head for months.

Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe bundle with Cool Treats, Cupcake Cutout thinlits, Coffee Cups framelits - treat packaging - teachers gifts - Ice Cubes gum packaging - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

I bought this container of Ice Cubes in May. May! I’d seen the ice cubes in the Coffee Cafe stamp set, so when I saw Ice Cubes at the grocery store, I grabbed them, planning to do some kind of fancy packaging for them. It’s been sitting in a basket on my desk for months. Long enough that the container is now empty. I have no idea how that happened. >.>

So here’s what I came up with. I cut a strip of 2″ x 12″ (actually, just a hair under 2″ wide) Whisper White cardstock and punched both ends with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I stamped the long wrapper with a stamp from Touches of Texture, in both Berry Burst and Daffodil Delight. I scored the middle two inches of the strip (I’m sorry, I didn’t get a measurement) to have a defined bottom for the treat wrapper. I attached the Ice Cubes container to the wrapper with Glue Dots, but if you’re going to actually give this to someone, you’d be better off using hot glue, or maybe lots of Tear & Tape. Super helpful, I know. Then I tied the ends together with the Berry Burst 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon. I added a strip of Silver Mini Sequin Trim to the bow before tightening the loops.

The cups on the front use the Coffee Cafe stamps and dies. The frozen lemonade on the left is made with Daffodil Delight cardstock (behind) and Vellum Cardstock on top. The “you’re” comes from a stamp in the Cool Treats stamp set (“you’re the cherry to my sundae” — I stamped it, then cut out the word I wanted), and the “sweet” is die cut using the Cupcake Cutouts framelits. I finished off the front with some Metallic Sequins.
