Crazy Crafters Blog Hop

Hi! Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop, with special guest… ME?! Are you kidding me??! I seriously almost peed my pants when Kylie Bertucci asked me to be the special guest on this week’s blog hop. The Crazy Crafters are Kylie’s Stampin’ Up! team. What an honor to hop with this amazingly talented team! For the blog hop, everyone is CASEing one of my cards (Copy and Selectively Edit / Copy and Share Everything). I can’t wait to see which cards the Crazy Crafters chose to CASE and what they do with them!

For my card, I chose one from over three years ago. I made this card in August 2014, and it’s been one of my top pinned cards ever. So I wanted to see what I could do to update it.

Stampin' Up! Musical Season and Christmas Pines stamps with Musical Instruments framelits, Quilt Top embossing folder, Quilted Christmas and Merry Music paper - Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

As you can see, I kept the layout, the color scheme, the gold embossing, and the kind of Nordic feel of the card. Everything I used on the previous card is retired except for the colors, so I kept Real Red, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, and Gold for my new card and updated everything else with current products. I absolutely love the Musical Season bundle this year! It is gorgeous. My sentiment and the snowflakes are from the Christmas Pines stamp set. This time for the designer paper, I used the Quilted Christmas paper and embossed the paper with the Quilt Top embossing folder.

Stampin' Up! Merry Music specialty paper with Envelope Punch Board & Musical Season stamps, sponge brayer, Year of Cheer specialty washi tape - Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

The card is square (5″x5″), so I needed to make an envelope to go with it. I kept with the music theme and used the Merry Music Paper. It’s lightweight, so it is perfect for making envelopes with the Envelope Punch Board. After I punched and scored the envelope, I sponged it with a Sponge Brayer and Calypso Coral ink. I added the Whisper White piece for writing the address and stamped it and added washi tape to match the card.

Thanks for stopping by today! And thanks so much to Kylie for inviting me to be part of this wonderful blog hop. Make sure you follow the hop all the way around to where you started. You’ll see lots of fantastic projects!

You can find all the products I used to make the card in my online Stampin’ Up! store.

Bitty Box with Bitty Bow Gift Set

Stampin' Up! Moon Baby stamp set and Fresh Florals DSP stack - Flip Top Box at Splitcoaststampers - Pretty Label punch, In Color Bitty Bows - baby girl gift set - Creative Crew - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

My second Creative Crew project at Splitcoaststampers this month is for the Technique challenge, and I made the Flip Top Box using this tutorial, and then the bitty box looked sad and lonely, so I decided it needed a card to go with it.

The theme for the Creative Crew this month is “Promises of New Things”, and I think baby pretty much covers that! Everything’s new with babies.

I am forcing myself to make more boxes and bags, so that’s why I chose the Flip Top Box for this challenge.

I love the crayon-type box and think it would be fun to fill with either a gift card to a baby store or some tiny knitted baby booties. Or special crayons. Teething rings, etc.

I used Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink, and Smoky Slate for my box (and along the way discovered that my toddler probably threw away my Powder Pink ink pad when she tossed a few of my acrylic blocks in the trash). The paper is from the new Fresh Florals paper stack (LOVE). The tag uses the Pretty Label punch and the Moon Baby stamp set. The Bitty Bow is my favorite part of the box. I can’t get enough of these teeny things!

Where the tutorial says to use an oval punch, I used the Pretty Label punch to punch out the decorative insert for the box; that way it matches the tag. Note that I curved off the pointy edges with my snips.

The matching card was so fast and easy to make!

Make sure you come back later — I have a TON of projects to show you today, because Creative Crew projects are live today, and THE NEW CATALOG HAS BEGUN!! The ordering system is down until 1 pm CDT, but then you can go crazy.

Also, I’ll be doing a special live video later today on my Facebook page to show you my top 20 items (if I can whittle it down to that many) from the new catalog, and yes, I will be able to show you the inside of the catalog! If you want to catch me live, go to my Facebook page, like it, and turn on notifications. I’m not sure whether I will go live at quiet time, when my kids are supposed to play quietly without me, or when my husband gets off work. Sometime today, depending on how the day is going!

Remember I am taking signups for my Paper, Ribbon, and Embellishments shares right now. Check out the details here (including the Stampin’ Up! videos that show all of the paper).

You can get all of the products I showed you in my online Stampin’ Up! store today! I will have a new Host Code for June up as soon as the ordering system is back up.

Life is Beautiful – Introducing Memories & More

Stampin' Up! Color Theory Memories & More card pack with Eastern Medallions thinlits, Colorful Seasons stamps, Wood Words stamps, Hexagon Dynamic embossing folder and new Mini Chevron Ribbon - Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hey there! This card is for the Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew inspiration challenge for June. This is my favorite of my five projects that I made for the Crew this month!

For the inspiration challenge this month, I was inspired by this bold fuchsia flower with gold and green accents.

Stampin' Up! Color Theory Memories & More card pack with Eastern Medallions thinlits, Colorful Seasons stamps, Wood Words stamps, Hexagon Dynamic embossing folder and new Mini Chevron Ribbon - Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

I started with an Old Olive card base and stamped and embossed the flower spray from Wood Words in white on the card base. I stamped it three times. LOVE this look!

The two 3″x4″ pieces of DSP on top of the embossed card base are not DSP at all. They are pocket cards from our new memory keeping collection, Memories and More.  I absolutely adore the Color Theory M&M collection (sorry, I’m going to call it M&M and sometimes maybe even Eminem).

Stampin' Up! Color Theory Memories & More card pack with Eastern Medallions thinlits, Colorful Seasons stamps, Wood Words stamps, Hexagon Dynamic embossing folder and new Mini Chevron Ribbon - Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

I tied the ribbon around the card base — this is the super soft 3/8″ Mini Chevron Ribbon, and it comes in Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, and Old Olive. It is the easiest ribbon to tie into a beautiful bow! And did I mention how soft it is? It’s kitty soft, and I know this because I sometimes pet it. *side eye* Look at the drape on this ribbon!

I used the Eastern Medallions Thinlits to recreate the big, bursting flower. I punched a piece of Gold Foil out with the 2″ Circle punch, then embossed the Gold Foil with the Hexagons folder (this matches the decoration on the inside of the card as well). I put Dimensionals between all the layers and under the flower.

And lookit those Glitter Enamel Dots. You can order them today.

I chose the “Life is a beautiful thing” sentiment, because it just seemed perfect for both our theme (Promises of New Things) and this vibrant flower.

I lined the inside of the card with some Whisper White cardstock and added a sticker from the M&M card pack to coordinate with the hexagons embossed on the front of the card.

Facebook Live — Tranquil Tulips

Stampin' Up! host stamp set Tranquil Tulips is available June 1st! So gorgeous with Color Theory DSP - #GDP089 - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hey, crafty friends! I decided to CASE my own card Tuesday for my live Facebook video, but using the colors from this week’s Global Design Project challenge.

Great colors, right?!

Stampin' Up! host stamp set Tranquil Tulips is available June 1st! So gorgeous with Color Theory DSP - #GDP089 - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

The card came out completely different from the original (you can see the original in the video), which was the whole point. I love it! And I absolutely adore this new host set Tranquil Tulips. I am so not into flowers (I’ve bought very few flowery stamp sets over the years, compared to the rest of my stamping stash), but maybe I’m turning into a flower lover! Stampin’ Up!’s flowery sets have just been irresistible to me lately.

Those Glitter Enamel Dots are so perfect for this card! Not as shiny as rhinestones but shinier than pearls — just perfect. You’ll be able to get them on June 5. And that’s the Old Olive 3/8″ Mini Chevron Ribbon under the sentiment. This ribbon is so soft and delicious. You’ll see it tied in a bow in one of my projects tomorrow — it makes BEAUTIFUL bows.

And look at that crackled paper in the background. It’s from the Color Theory designer series paper stack and is so beautiful. This is one of the Old Olive pieces, but the pack also has Berry Burst, Crushed Curry, and Dapper Denim.

Do you love the flowers peeking out from the inside of the card?

I love to decorate the inside of my card. It gives it a professional, finished look.

Here’s the live video where I make the card, talk about my refrigerator sadness, tell you about my thieving toddler, and handle interruptions from two different kids who are supposed to be having their quiet time — this is pretty much every day in my house.
