Thanksgiving Table goodies

Stampin' Up! Pick a Pumpkin bundle with Patterned Pumpkin thinlits and Seasonal Layers thinlits, Painted Autumn paper - thanksgiving table decorations - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hey! Sorry for my absence… We’ve had a lot of sickness around our house, and frankly also a lot of house cleaning. Sometimes I have to just pause and get some things done so I don’t go crazy. :)

Okay, so this is really late for this year’s Thanksgiving, unless you’re a last-minute person like I am. But I figured I’d show you anyway in case you need some last-minute crafty ideas for your Thanksgiving table. Or you can be early for next year! See, my family does Thanksgiving as an enormous extended family, and always the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so I still have plenty of time. Ha!

Okay, first the name tag. The pumpkins (from Pick a Pumpkin) are stamped in Tangerine Tango, Peekaboo Peach, and 2nd generation Peekaboo Peach (stamped off once), then cut with the Patterned Pumpkins thinlits. The leaves are cut out of Painted Autumn paper and Gold Glimmer Paper using the Seasonal Layers thinlits. I put everything on the Thick Very Vanilla tag using my favorite glue and Mini Dimensionals. Make sure to leave room at the bottom for the twigs. I got these craft twigs from Amazon and just hot glued them across the bottom of the front and back of the tag. I wrote the names on with a Journaling Pen.

For the utensils, I made a pouch out of Early Espresso cardstock and taped it together (in the middle of the back and along the bottom) with Tear & Tape. I reinforced the Tear & Tape with the liquid glue just to make sure everything stays together. The Tear & Tape will hold it just fine, but just in case. I cut the Very Vanilla accents with the Patterned Pumpkin dies and glued those down to the top. Then a stitched Tangerine Tango circle cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits on top of those. Then the gold strip on the bottom is punched with the Ticket Tear Border Punch (on sale in the Online Extravaganza right now!). The paper is the Painted Autumn paper again — I am so in love with these pumpkins! After I glued on the paper, I added more Very Vanilla accents, then a couple of Gold Glimmer vines. I cut the large pumpkin out of Very Vanilla cardstock and Painted Autumn paper. I also hand-cut the same shape around the pumpkin again and glued the outline of the Very Vanilla pumpkin to that, so I’d have something to glue the negatives to. I used the negatives from the Painted Autumn paper. The pieced pumpkin is on Dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from the At Home With You stamp set and punched it out with the Classic Label punch. After adding the utensils and napkin, I tied them up with some Jute Twine.

This is a matchbook treat holder for mini packs of candy corn. The matchbook is made of Tangerine Tango cardstock, and after all the cutting and scoring, the bottom is stapled right underneath where the knot of the bow is. For the treat holder, I used the same stamps, dies, and paper, but also added Lemon-Lime Twist for a couple of the stamped accent pieces and Early Espresso cardstock for one of them. The bow is Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon. This stuff is so gorgeous!

Happy Thanksgiving! I’ll actually have a post tomorrow morning if you get tired of turkey and would like a crafty palate cleanser. ;)

Stampin' Up! handmade Christmas card with watercolor background, Tags & Trimmings, Christmas Pines, Snowflake Sentiments, and Seasonal Layers thinlits - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Good morning! I hope your week is going well. I’ve been getting a lot of crafting done, so I’m a happy camper.

Today I decided to play along with this sketch from CAS(E) this sketch. I love all of the dimension in this one little sketch!

Stampin' Up! handmade Christmas card with watercolor background, Tags & Trimmings, Christmas Pines, Snowflake Sentiments, and Seasonal Layers thinlits - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

I started with my watercolor background. I laid down four different colors of ink on watercolor paper and dried each color with the Heat Tool. First I laid down Island Indigo with my Aqua Painter; I wet the area I wanted to cover with the Aqua Painter, then added the ink. I have been neglecting this color, and it’s one of my very favorites! I’m so happy to use it again. After Island Indigo was dry, I wet an overlapping section of the paper, then covered it with Bermuda Bay. After I dried that, I did the same with Fresh Fig. Then I added Marina Mist around the edges, but then I covered most of the Marina Mist with more Island Indigo.

After my background was done, I stamped snowflakes from Tags & Trimmings and Snowflake Sentiments all over the background in Versamark ink, then heat embossed it in white. I added this to an Island Indigo card base.  I added the Silver Mini Sequin Trim using the Tombow glue. I cut two branches out of Whisper White cardstock with the Seasonal Layers thinlits. After I glued the right-hand ends down to the card, I covered the branches in Wink of Stella. It doesn’t show in the pictures, but the branches are very sparkly! I embossed the sentiment, from Christmas Pines, in white on Island Indigo cardstock, then trimmed it down and flagged the end with the Banner Triple Punch. That is up on Dimensionals.

I thought the card needed just a little more, so I did a little watercolor lifting to get the droplets in the background, then added quite a few dots of Wink of Stella all over the background.

The inside sentiment is also from Christmas Pines, and I added Wink of Stella to the word “sparkle” so it… sparkles.

Colored Seasons

Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons bundle with Seasonal Layers framelits and Stampin' Blends alcohol markers , Beautiful Bouquet - autumn fall handmade birthday card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hey, everyone! Today I have a fall-themed birthday card for you. I’m using the Colorful Seasons bundle along with the Stampin’ Blends (surprise!). This card makes me miss Idaho so much! We had a gorgeous silver maple in our back yard that had the most brilliant, fiery red leaves in the fall.

I’m playing along with the Fusion Card Challenge (Autumn Leaves) today. I decided to just use the photo for my inspiration today.

I stamped the leaves in Cherry Cobbler ink, and after it was dry, I colored the leaves using the Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I also used the Color Lifter as needed (and to fix lots of little errors). After coloring the leaves, I sponged around the whole edge of the cardstock in Cherry Cobbler ink with a Stamping Sponge.

I added a Gold Glimmer Paper leaf cut with the Seasonal Layer thinlits (just because I decided my card needed some gold sparkle), then added the sentiment with some Gold Metallic Thread behind it. The sentiment is from Beautiful Bouquet and cut with the Lots of Labels framelits. After barely using these at all last year, I find that I use them all the time now!

On the inside, I stamped a leaf and another sweet sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet. I sponged the edges of the cardstock again before adding it to the card.

Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons bundle with Merry Cafe & Rose Wonder stamps, Seasonal Layers thinlits, watercolor emboss resist - how to use heat embossing on a card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

This month’s theme for the International Blog Highlight is Sympathy. I have a hard time with sympathy cards, but I had a vision for this card and was really glad that it came out better than what I had in my head. Friday is rumored to be the first day of fall, though it won’t actually feel like it for a couple more months (the forecast says 91 on Friday), so I went with a fall theme for my card.

I wanted to use the Colorful Seasons bundle and bold colors with the Watercolor Emboss Resist technique. I chose Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Tangerine Tango, Peekaboo Peach, and Old Olive. Plus a dash of Copper Foil. I love, love, love how it turned out.
