Stampin' Up! Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts with Hold On to Hope, Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper, Sale-A-Bration Shimmer Ribbon Pack (free with $50 purchase), Stampin' Write Markers - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

My first card is a card I made for a recent swap with other demonstrators. The background is stamped with a floral flourish from the Hold On to Hope stamp set. The flower cart comes from Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts, and I colored it with Stampin’ Write Markers. I also sponged Lemon-Lime Twist around the flowers before I colored them in.

Stampin' Up! Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts with Hold On to Hope, Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper, Sale-A-Bration Shimmer Ribbon Pack (free with $50 purchase), Stampin' Write Markers - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

The sentiment is from Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts. What a sweet message to send to a friend! The ribbon is FREE Sale-A-Bration ribbon (with $50 order), and the glimmer paper is from the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper. One thing about gluing things down on top of Glimmer Paper — you need to use hot glue or the Fine Tip Glue Pen or the Multipurpose Liquid Glue and allow a long drying time. What I did for the swap cards was I put the Glimmer Paper banner underneath the flower cart layer, then attached the ribbon and sentiment on top of the flower cart layer. That takes a lot less time!

Stampin' Up! Celebrate You thinlits (free with $100 purchase during Sale-A-Bration), Hello Color, Brusho Crystal Colour, emboss resist handmade celebration card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

My second card is in a completely different direction and a different style. I can never settle on my own personal style, because I love them all. I heat embossed the Hello Color stamp from the Annual Catalog, then sprinkled Brusho Crystals on top of the embossed area, then spritzed. I used Prussian Blue, Brilliant Red, and Yellow. Look how many wonderful colors and shades you can get from a few sprinkles and a quick spritzing! Brusho is one of my very favorite products from the new Occasions Catalog.

The “celebrate” sentiment is die cut from Shimmery White cardstock using the Celebrate You thinlits (free with $100 purchase during Sale-A-Bration). After I cut it out, I sprinkled on Prussian Blue and Brilliant Red Brusho crystals, then spritzed the die cut. And this is how it turned out! I love that you never know what you will get with Brusho.

Beachy Waterfront

Stampin' Up! Waterfront with In the City host stamp set - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hello! I hope your Friday night is going well. All is well here. I was so productive today that I can’t even with myself right now. Of course all the productivity was housewife-related, so no crafting. Just so much Costco. And podcast listening, tbh. That’s who I am now. I listen to podcasts.

Stampin' Up! Waterfront with In the City host stamp set - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

This card is almost entirely stamping. I stamped this little beachy scene using the Waterfront stamp set. The colors are listed below. The sentiment comes from the In The City host stamp set. Such a fun little stamp set that goes perfectly with Waterfront. I added some Glitter Enamel Dots for a little extra something. And that’s it!

Share My Branch

Stampin' Up! Bird Banter - handmade friend card - Delightful Daisy & Coffee Break paper - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts #GDP120

Good evening! I hope you’re having a great weekend and have some craft time carved out sometime this weekend. I’m determined to finally get our Christmas stuff down and decorate for Valentine’s Day, so I don’t know if I will get to craft much. But I’m sure I’ll try to sneak it in!

Today I decided to play along with Global Design Project’s Case the Designer challenge. The challenge is to CASE this amazing card by Krista Frattin. It’s ultra-feminine and beautiful, and I somehow ended up with a kinda masculine card. I’m not quite sure how that happened! That’s what happens when you CASE, though. I used her layout, though I turned my card to landscape, and I went with lots of layers. Everything else is TOTALLY different.

Stampin' Up! Bird Banter - handmade friend card - Delightful Daisy & Coffee Break paper - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts #GDP120

This was my first play with the adorable Bird Banter stamp set. I knew I wanted two birds facing each other on one branch, because I really wanted to use this sentiment. I stamped the branch in Soft Suede. I decided to paint the leaves using Brusho, though really it came out kind of Old Olive, so I could have just used my Old Olive Blends. I used a plastic painter’s tray to mix colors and used one tap of Prussian Blue crystals and about six taps of Yellow crystals, then mixed them with water. I painted the leaves with this mixture, but I used as little water as possible, because I was painting on regular Whisper White. After it dried, I went back in and added a tiny bit of paint to the center point of each leaf.

I masked off the branch before stamping the birds. I colored the Macaw with Stampin’ Blends in Cherry Cobbler (Light & Dark), Night of Navy (Light & Dark), and Daffodil Delight (Light & Dark). I colored in the bottom half of the beak with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. I used the Light Smoky Slate to color the edges of the white parts of his face and beak, then I used the Color Lifter to really soften the Smoky Slate and blend it out. I added a few shadows around the outside edge with the Light Smoky Slate and used the Color Lifter the same way. To color the cockatoo, I used Light & Dark Daffodil Delight on his comb and carried the Light Daffodil down into his face, then smoothed out the edges with the Color Lifter. I used Light & Dark Pumpkin Pie on his wing and tail feathers. His beak is done with Light Night of Navy and Light Smoky Slate. Then I added shadows with Light Smoky Slate and the Color Lifter. Finally, I shaded under the branch with Light Smoky Slate.

The rest of the card is designer series paper (green background – Delightful Daisy, Soft Sky circle – Coffee Break, wood-look banner – Wood Textures).

Gingerbread Houses scrapbook page

Good morning! Today’s project is a 2-page scrapbook layout (click picture to embiggen). I was looking through my Christmas Around the World paper over the weekend, and when I saw this sheet with all the Christmas goodies, I was inspired to finally scrapbook some photos from last year when we made gingerbread houses.

Stampin' Up! 2-page 12x12 Christmas layout for gingerbread houses - Christmas Around the World paper, Sweet Home stamps, Home Sweet Home thinlits, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

The gingerbread house and gum drops are from the Sweet Home stamp set and the Home Sweet Home thinlits. The heart and star are from the Trim Your Stocking thinlits. The font that I used for the title is, sadly, retired. I stamped it on Whisper White, then punched out each letter with the Pretty Label punch, then snipped off the decorative sides. Under the bottom edge of the title, you can see a strip of Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape. It is sooooo pretty in person.

Stampin' Up! 2-page 12x12 Christmas layout for gingerbread houses - Christmas Around the World paper, Sweet Home stamps, Home Sweet Home thinlits, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

The gingerbread cookies are from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set, punched with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, and the journaling card is from the Color Theory Card Pack. The ribbon on both pages is Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon.
