Hello! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. We are being highlighted by the wonderful Kylie Bertucci, and you can VOTE for my project. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop in December, so please do go vote for me. I’d love to be in this blog hop again!

Stampin' Up! You Move Me stamp set - handmade love card - butterflies - emboss resist with sponge brayers - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

The theme for this month’s blog highlight is LOVE, a very broad category. I hadn’t inked up the You Move Me stamps much, so I pulled them out, just because I love this sentiment. I have also rediscovered my love for Island Indigo, so I just had to use it.

I started with Whisper White cardstock and stamped the inner butterfly images from the stamp set. I wanted to see what these would look like if I just stamped the negatives. So cool, right? I heat embossed them with Clear embossing powder, then used my Sponge Brayer to sponge on Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Lemon-Lime Twist, and Tangerine Tango. I ended up loving this color combo! I wiped off the ink that accumulated on the embossing with a dry baby wipe.

I embossed “my heart” with Copper embossing powder, because I love Copper with Island Indigo. Then I stamped “FLUTTERS” first in Island Indigo, and then stamped on top of that with Versamark. Then I sprinkled Copper embossing powder on some of the image but not all of it, because I wanted the bottom part to be Island Indigo, so I would have a progression of Copper to Island Indigo. I stamped the bottom part of the sentiment in Island Indigo. I put the sentiment pieces up on Dimensionals, then finished off the card with Clear Faceted Gems.

Thanks for visiting my blog today; I hope you like my card! Make sure you head over to Kylie’s blog to vote for my projects and check out the other amazing projects in the gallery. I would love to be chosen to do the next international blog hop!

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop

Hi! Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop, with special guest… ME?! Are you kidding me??! I seriously almost peed my pants when Kylie Bertucci asked me to be the special guest on this week’s blog hop. The Crazy Crafters are Kylie’s Stampin’ Up! team. What an honor to hop with this amazingly talented team! For the blog hop, everyone is CASEing one of my cards (Copy and Selectively Edit / Copy and Share Everything). I can’t wait to see which cards the Crazy Crafters chose to CASE and what they do with them!

For my card, I chose one from over three years ago. I made this card in August 2014, and it’s been one of my top pinned cards ever. So I wanted to see what I could do to update it.

Stampin' Up! Musical Season and Christmas Pines stamps with Musical Instruments framelits, Quilt Top embossing folder, Quilted Christmas and Merry Music paper - Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

As you can see, I kept the layout, the color scheme, the gold embossing, and the kind of Nordic feel of the card. Everything I used on the previous card is retired except for the colors, so I kept Real Red, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, and Gold for my new card and updated everything else with current products. I absolutely love the Musical Season bundle this year! It is gorgeous. My sentiment and the snowflakes are from the Christmas Pines stamp set. This time for the designer paper, I used the Quilted Christmas paper and embossed the paper with the Quilt Top embossing folder.

Stampin' Up! Merry Music specialty paper with Envelope Punch Board & Musical Season stamps, sponge brayer, Year of Cheer specialty washi tape - Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

The card is square (5″x5″), so I needed to make an envelope to go with it. I kept with the music theme and used the Merry Music Paper. It’s lightweight, so it is perfect for making envelopes with the Envelope Punch Board. After I punched and scored the envelope, I sponged it with a Sponge Brayer and Calypso Coral ink. I added the Whisper White piece for writing the address and stamped it and added washi tape to match the card.

Colorful Day

Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons bundle with Color Theory and Wood Texture papers - shaker card - handmade retirement card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hey, there! It has taken me a good week to get back on my feet after my stupid stomach decided to freak out on me. I was on the couch for several days, but then it took several days to catch up on things around the house. So I’m finally back, feeling fine and ready for lots more papercrafts.

This was my final Creative Crew project at Splitcoaststampers for June. The challenge here was to make a project using strong summer colors. Yes, please, and thank you. Bold brights are my favorites! I wanted to use the Color Theory suite from the new catalog for my card. I’d barely touched this suite, and it had been calling my name. A few weeks ago, I’d tried to make a surprise shaker card that was very similar to this, but I wasn’t happy with the result. So I re-made the card, changing the colors and discarding the “surprise” part.

The window frame and the wood floors are both made from the Wood Textures DSP stack. I cut the window using the Hearth & Home framelits. I’ve had these for probably a year and a half and never used them! I just couldn’t come up with anything, so I’m glad I finally had an idea for them.

The wall is a Crushed Curry ombre piece from the Color Theory DSP stack. Everyone has ombre walls, right?

I made the curtain rod from Silver Foil, and the curtains are made from several strips of Berry Burst 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon. I adore this ribbon. I cut several lengths, then taped them together with Tear & Tape, and finally wrapped the top edge over the top of the curtain rod, tacking it down in the back with Tear & Tape.

Through the window, I sponged Bermuda Bay ink on with the Sponge Brayer, also ombre to look like both sea and sky. I stamped the branch and the flowers (they fit together perfectly) from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and added the Adirondack chair. What a nice place to sit.

The sequins are from an old Paper Pumpkin kit (I love the sequins that sometimes come in these kits! They are always so good!), and I also stamped and fussy cut some of the flowers to add to the shaker.

These stamps are all from the Colorful Seasons stamp set as well. It’s such a beautiful set with beautiful sentiments.
