Beachy Waterfront

Stampin' Up! Waterfront with In the City host stamp set - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hello! I hope your Friday night is going well. All is well here. I was so productive today that I can’t even with myself right now. Of course all the productivity was housewife-related, so no crafting. Just so much Costco. And podcast listening, tbh. That’s who I am now. I listen to podcasts.

Stampin' Up! Waterfront with In the City host stamp set - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

This card is almost entirely stamping. I stamped this little beachy scene using the Waterfront stamp set. The colors are listed below. The sentiment comes from the In The City host stamp set. Such a fun little stamp set that goes perfectly with Waterfront. I added some Glitter Enamel Dots for a little extra something. And that’s it!

Thanksgiving Table goodies

Stampin' Up! Pick a Pumpkin bundle with Patterned Pumpkin thinlits and Seasonal Layers thinlits, Painted Autumn paper - thanksgiving table decorations - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hey! Sorry for my absence… We’ve had a lot of sickness around our house, and frankly also a lot of house cleaning. Sometimes I have to just pause and get some things done so I don’t go crazy. :)

Okay, so this is really late for this year’s Thanksgiving, unless you’re a last-minute person like I am. But I figured I’d show you anyway in case you need some last-minute crafty ideas for your Thanksgiving table. Or you can be early for next year! See, my family does Thanksgiving as an enormous extended family, and always the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so I still have plenty of time. Ha!

Okay, first the name tag. The pumpkins (from Pick a Pumpkin) are stamped in Tangerine Tango, Peekaboo Peach, and 2nd generation Peekaboo Peach (stamped off once), then cut with the Patterned Pumpkins thinlits. The leaves are cut out of Painted Autumn paper and Gold Glimmer Paper using the Seasonal Layers thinlits. I put everything on the Thick Very Vanilla tag using my favorite glue and Mini Dimensionals. Make sure to leave room at the bottom for the twigs. I got these craft twigs from Amazon and just hot glued them across the bottom of the front and back of the tag. I wrote the names on with a Journaling Pen.

For the utensils, I made a pouch out of Early Espresso cardstock and taped it together (in the middle of the back and along the bottom) with Tear & Tape. I reinforced the Tear & Tape with the liquid glue just to make sure everything stays together. The Tear & Tape will hold it just fine, but just in case. I cut the Very Vanilla accents with the Patterned Pumpkin dies and glued those down to the top. Then a stitched Tangerine Tango circle cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits on top of those. Then the gold strip on the bottom is punched with the Ticket Tear Border Punch (on sale in the Online Extravaganza right now!). The paper is the Painted Autumn paper again — I am so in love with these pumpkins! After I glued on the paper, I added more Very Vanilla accents, then a couple of Gold Glimmer vines. I cut the large pumpkin out of Very Vanilla cardstock and Painted Autumn paper. I also hand-cut the same shape around the pumpkin again and glued the outline of the Very Vanilla pumpkin to that, so I’d have something to glue the negatives to. I used the negatives from the Painted Autumn paper. The pieced pumpkin is on Dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from the At Home With You stamp set and punched it out with the Classic Label punch. After adding the utensils and napkin, I tied them up with some Jute Twine.

This is a matchbook treat holder for mini packs of candy corn. The matchbook is made of Tangerine Tango cardstock, and after all the cutting and scoring, the bottom is stapled right underneath where the knot of the bow is. For the treat holder, I used the same stamps, dies, and paper, but also added Lemon-Lime Twist for a couple of the stamped accent pieces and Early Espresso cardstock for one of them. The bow is Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon. This stuff is so gorgeous!

Happy Thanksgiving! I’ll actually have a post tomorrow morning if you get tired of turkey and would like a crafty palate cleanser. ;)

Kylie’s International Blog Highlight: Love

Hello! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. We are being highlighted by the wonderful Kylie Bertucci, and you can VOTE for my project. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop in December, so please do go vote for me. I’d love to be in this blog hop again!

Stampin' Up! You Move Me stamp set - handmade love card - butterflies - emboss resist with sponge brayers - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

The theme for this month’s blog highlight is LOVE, a very broad category. I hadn’t inked up the You Move Me stamps much, so I pulled them out, just because I love this sentiment. I have also rediscovered my love for Island Indigo, so I just had to use it.

I started with Whisper White cardstock and stamped the inner butterfly images from the stamp set. I wanted to see what these would look like if I just stamped the negatives. So cool, right? I heat embossed them with Clear embossing powder, then used my Sponge Brayer to sponge on Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Lemon-Lime Twist, and Tangerine Tango. I ended up loving this color combo! I wiped off the ink that accumulated on the embossing with a dry baby wipe.

I embossed “my heart” with Copper embossing powder, because I love Copper with Island Indigo. Then I stamped “FLUTTERS” first in Island Indigo, and then stamped on top of that with Versamark. Then I sprinkled Copper embossing powder on some of the image but not all of it, because I wanted the bottom part to be Island Indigo, so I would have a progression of Copper to Island Indigo. I stamped the bottom part of the sentiment in Island Indigo. I put the sentiment pieces up on Dimensionals, then finished off the card with Clear Faceted Gems.

Thanks for visiting my blog today; I hope you like my card! Make sure you head over to Kylie’s blog to vote for my projects and check out the other amazing projects in the gallery. I would love to be chosen to do the next international blog hop!

Feathery Friends

Stampin' Up! Wood Textures paper, Feathery Friends host stamp set, Birthday Blooms - handmade birthday card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Hey! Today’s card is pretty simple as far as layers and embellishments go, but I love how it turned out. I used the Wood Textures designer series paper (included in the October DSP sale!) and decided to heat emboss these cute little flowers from the Feathery Friends host stamp set directly on the paper. You can’t buy this stamp set — you can only earn it and buy it with Stampin’ Rewards with an order over $150 or a party that goes over $150. Isn’t it cute?

The card base is Emerald Envy, which is terribly underappreciated. After I mounted the embossed background on the card base, I added a piece of the Pool Party 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon and zigzagged it back and forth until I liked how it looked. I Glue Dotted that down, then added the sentiment. The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White in… well, honestly I’m not sure. I thought I used Calypso Coral, but in the pictures it looks like Tangerine Tango. Either one would look great, though! The sentiment is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set, and the flowers are from the same Feathery Friends set. The circle is cut out with the Stitched Shapes framelits. I popped the sentiment up on Dimensionals, being careful to only place the Dimensionals above and below where the ribbon was.

All of the items I used in my card can be found in my online Stampin’ Up! store (linked supply list is at the end of this post). Make sure to use the October Host Code (below), and I’ll send you extra goodies!
