Good evening! I hope you’re doing well. I had a weird weekend. I somehow injured my foot in my sleep, as you do. I was seriously hobbled all weekend (it’s better but not completely). Plus I had two sick kids and t-ball practice, and my dog killed a baby bunny in the back yard, so… meh. Weird weekend. I guess you can say I was glad to see Monday. At co-op today I got two new students in my knitting class — an extra kid, plus a mom who wants to learn to knit. We had a lot of fun in class and were shocked when the bell rang to end class. Time flies.
For today’s post, I made a trio of cards using the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set, some ribbon, and some washi tape. Heartfelt Blooms is one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets. You can only get these stamps for FREE with a $50 purchase — you can’t buy them. This flower stamp is the first of a new type of stamp patented by Stampin’ Up! The details are amazing.
The main colors I used were Flirty Flamingo, Garden Green (gasp!), and Rich Razzleberry. I used the same layout and design for each card and simply changed up the ribbon and the washi tape.
For the Flirty Flamingo card, I used the Lemon-Lime Twist 3/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon and Basics Pack 1 washi tape.
For the Garden Green card, I used Crumb Cake 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon. This ribbon is so lovely and feels so nice.
The Rich Razzleberry card is my favorite. I think I have exactly the right amount of ink on my Rich Razzleberry ink pad to make the flowers burst off the card. I used Basics Pack 1 washi tape on this one, plus the FREE Sale-A-Bration Shimmer Ribbon pack (free with $50 purchase). The ribbon comes in three different widths and three different colors – Calypso Coral, Basic Gray, and Bermuda Bay. It’s delicious.
Everything I used on my cards can be found in my online Stampin’ Up! store. Make sure to use the February Host Code (below) if your order is below $150, and I’ll send you extra goodies! Wow, did this week go fast? It did for me. Yesterday I finally did get my Christmas stuff down. The scourge (updating the budget) is over, so I finally got to move on to the other scourge (cleaning my house). And I’m actually really excited about it and look forward to doing it for like the next six weeks.
Today I’m showing you one of the free Sale-A-Bration stamp sets that you can earn with a $50 order. The bouquet on the left of the card is from Heartfelt Blooms. This gorgeous stamp is lovely whether you stamp it tone-on-tone, stamp in a single color, or stamp it in a light color and color it with the Stampin’ Blends, which is what I did. I stamped in Crumb Cake, then colored the flowers with Light and Dark Daffodil Delight and Light Pumpkin Pie Blends markers. I colored the leaves with Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. I noticed after I colored the leaves that since Old Olive is so much darker than Crumb Cake, I had covered up all of the intricate leaf details when I colored. So I used my Color Lifter to draw in some veins.
The Bible verse comes from the stamp set Hold On To Hope, which I bought just for this Bible verse. This one stamp is good for sympathy, illness, a really tough challenge someone is going through, or to celebrate coming through that big challenge. I had to have it.
On the Daffodil Delight card base, I stamped in Daffodil Delight with one of the stamps from Touches of Texture.
On the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment from Heartfelt Blooms — isn’t that a lovely font? Then I stamped the same Touches of Texture stamp from the card front at the bottom edge of the mat.
Thanks for stopping by! Everything I used on my card can be found in my online Stampin’ Up! store. Good morning! This is my design team card for this week’s Triple Threat color combo over at Dynamic Duos.
I love to play along with challenges, but sometimes they just stump me, and I throw in the towel and move on. And I have to say that this one stumped me! But I’m on the design team (it still feels strange to say that!) and can’t get stumped, so I powered through. ;) I kept trying to make a Christmas card, and I did make one, but it kind of came out as just a card. Nothing special. So I went back to square one and stopped trying to force a Christmas card out of my head, and I got this. I like this much better.
I didn’t really start out intending to tear up the Pear Pizzazz paper, but after I embossed it, I decided to take a little off the edges. I kept messing up my tears, so eventually half my mat was gone. Haha! I like how it turned out, though.
The mirror frame (not really intended as a mirror, but then I added the Silver Foil, so it became a mirror), flower, and arrow are all from the Oh Hello stamp set. The sentiment is from the beautiful hostess set Express Yourself, and the postage frame and umbrella both come from another hostess set, Postage Collection. I love the hostess sets Stampin’ Up! has this year! I have about half of them already and have my eye on several more.
I colored the flower in first with a Blushing Bride marker, then around the edges with the Raspberry Ripple marker. I love how the flower turned out — it’s my favorite part of the card. Well, I also really love the pearls.
The only thing I don’t love about the card is the ink spots. They were kind of an afterthought. Everything was glued down and dimensionaled up, and I pulled out Gorgeous Grunge on a whim. Afterward, I wished I hadn’t. Oh well.
I hope you’ll join us this week at Dynamic Duos. We’d love to see your creations!
I’m writing this at 4 a.m., so I hope it’s not too hard to read! [UPDATE: Wow, I used a lot of exclamation points. I have edited the post to tone it down a wee bit. At 37, I am clearly now too old to stay up so late. I also added a supply list at the bottom of the post.]
I have to run — I’m selling a lot of cards plus some other crafty things made with SU! supplies at a MA-liday (rhymes with holiday) Bazaar this morning, and I’d like 2 hours of sleep before I go. The MA is because all the sellers at the bazaar will be “mompreneurs”. If you’re in the Treasure Valley, the bazaar is at 1247 E. Fairview in Meridian from 10 to 1 in the Fit For Motherhood studio. Come see me peddling my wares! There will be lots of great vendors!
