Good evening! It’s late, I know. I just was too sleepy to blog last night, tbh, and this is the first chance I’ve had. So here’s a fun and bright birthday card.
I always like the punny or sarcastic or silly stamps. This new stamp set, Birthday Wit, has a few fun sentiments for birthday cards that are a little irreverent (and poke fun at food weirdos like me, because one of them is about being gluten-free, dairy-free, carb-free, etc. — I can’t eat anything fun).
The two designer papers on this card are from the FREE (with $50 purchase) Sale-A-Bration paper, Bubbles & Fizz. How fun is this paper?! I’m probably going to need a second pack. And look at that gorgeous Glimmer Paper! This is the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper (it comes in 3 colors). LOVE!
Do you see the bottom edge of the Whisper White cardstock panel that the sentiment is stamped on? I have been neglectful of this fun little border punch! I don’t know why, because it’s so cute. This is the Ticket Tear Border Punch. I’m glad I pulled it out.
Inside the card.
Thanks for stopping by! Everything I used on my card can be found in my online Stampin’ Up! store. Not to mention free shipping on your Starter Kit, a 20% discount through at least the end of July, and other great demonstrator perks. I’m happy to discuss it with you if you have questions or concerns.
Hey! Sorry for my absence… We’ve had a lot of sickness around our house, and frankly also a lot of house cleaning. Sometimes I have to just pause and get some things done so I don’t go crazy. :)
Okay, so this is really late for this year’s Thanksgiving, unless you’re a last-minute person like I am. But I figured I’d show you anyway in case you need some last-minute crafty ideas for your Thanksgiving table. Or you can be early for next year! See, my family does Thanksgiving as an enormous extended family, and always the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so I still have plenty of time. Ha!
Okay, first the name tag. The pumpkins (from Pick a Pumpkin) are stamped in Tangerine Tango, Peekaboo Peach, and 2nd generation Peekaboo Peach (stamped off once), then cut with the Patterned Pumpkins thinlits. The leaves are cut out of Painted Autumn paper and Gold Glimmer Paper using the Seasonal Layers thinlits. I put everything on the Thick Very Vanilla tag using my favorite glue and Mini Dimensionals. Make sure to leave room at the bottom for the twigs. I got these craft twigs from Amazon and just hot glued them across the bottom of the front and back of the tag. I wrote the names on with a Journaling Pen.
For the utensils, I made a pouch out of Early Espresso cardstock and taped it together (in the middle of the back and along the bottom) with Tear & Tape. I reinforced the Tear & Tape with the liquid glue just to make sure everything stays together. The Tear & Tape will hold it just fine, but just in case. I cut the Very Vanilla accents with the Patterned Pumpkin dies and glued those down to the top. Then a stitched Tangerine Tango circle cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits on top of those. Then the gold strip on the bottom is punched with the Ticket Tear Border Punch (on sale in the Online Extravaganza right now!). The paper is the Painted Autumn paper again — I am so in love with these pumpkins! After I glued on the paper, I added more Very Vanilla accents, then a couple of Gold Glimmer vines. I cut the large pumpkin out of Very Vanilla cardstock and Painted Autumn paper. I also hand-cut the same shape around the pumpkin again and glued the outline of the Very Vanilla pumpkin to that, so I’d have something to glue the negatives to. I used the negatives from the Painted Autumn paper. The pieced pumpkin is on Dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from the At Home With You stamp set and punched it out with the Classic Label punch. After adding the utensils and napkin, I tied them up with some Jute Twine.
This is a matchbook treat holder for mini packs of candy corn. The matchbook is made of Tangerine Tango cardstock, and after all the cutting and scoring, the bottom is stapled right underneath where the knot of the bow is. For the treat holder, I used the same stamps, dies, and paper, but also added Lemon-Lime Twist for a couple of the stamped accent pieces and Early Espresso cardstock for one of them. The bow is Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon. This stuff is so gorgeous!
Happy Thanksgiving! I’ll actually have a post tomorrow morning if you get tired of turkey and would like a crafty palate cleanser. ;)
Everything I used in my projects can be found in my online Stampin’ Up! store. Make sure to use the November Host Code (below) if your order is below $150, and I’ll send you extra goodies! If your order is over $150, make sure to claim your Stampin’ Rewards when you check out.
Hi, and welcome to the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop! This is a monthly hop with friends around the world; you’re currently visiting Sarah Fleming in the USA. This month’s theme is our favorite products that carried over from any of last year’s catalogs to the new annual catalog.
I have so many favorites carrying over, but I decided to go with the Cool Treats stamps and matching Frozen Treats framelits, because I adore them and haven’t shown them much love at all. And then for the sentiment on the front of the card, I used the Sunshine Sayings stamps and the coordinating Sunshine Wishes thinlits.
But I’m also SO in love with the new catalog that I just had to mix it up and use some of the new stuff, too.
My card base is Thick Whisper White. I stamped the base with Berry Burst, Emerald Envy, and Soft Sky. Then I added a strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, punched with the new Ticket Tear Border Punch. Over that I added a strip of Emerald Envy, embossed using the new Ruffled Dynamic embossing folder. I punched a 2″ circle of the glimmer paper and glued that down, then did my focal panel.
The focal panel is the new (returning from years ago) Glossy Cardstock. I’m so in love with this stuff! I used the Ink, Spray, & Smash technique with Soft Sky, Melon Mambo, Emerald Envy, and Pacific Point reinkers. I’m always amazed how the colors come out with this technique. The Melon Mambo mixed with the Pacific Point and came out looking like Berry Burst! After it was dry, I cut out the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes framelits.
I stamped and cut the ice cream cones, then stamped the Emerald Envy ice cream scoop and cut it out. I cut the Berry Burst ice cream from one of the ombre sheets in the Color Theory designer series paper stack.
For the word cool, I used the Sunshine Wishes thinlits. I cut the “co” and another “o” from the “congrats” die, then cut the “l” from the “love” die, first out of Whisper White, then out of Emerald Envy. I glued the two layers together, slightly offset, then put them on the glossy background with Mini Dimensionals (cut in half, because these words are so thin that even the baby Dimensionals are too big!).
I finally glued some of the new Iridescent Sequins on.
I stamped the inside with the Cool Treats stamps. Festive!
I hope my card has inspired you to mix the old and the new together for extra fun. You are currently visiting Sarah Fleming in the USA. Please see the list below & hop through all of the people on the list to see all of our projects. You don’t want to miss any!
I am taking signups for my Paper, Ribbon, and Embellishments shares right now. Check out the details here (including the Stampin’ Up! videos that show all of the paper).
