Good morning! Wow, did you realize there are only ten days left until Halloween? And I still haven’t decided on costumes for my kiddos… I have some ideas. I guess it will depend on which costumes I can pull together in ten days!
The Toil & Trouble stamp set was the first set in the Holiday Catalog that caught my eye. I pretty much got giddy when I saw this big stamp. So many things to do with it.
For this card, I played along with the Fab Friday sketch challenge — and what a great sketch! I’ll save this one to use again later.
I matted the Witches’ Brew designer series paper on Pumpkin Pie cardstock, and then a werewolf came and shredded it. The big stamp is embossed with Black embossing powder on Whisper White cardstock. For the glittery pop-ups, I stamped the words again in Versamark ink, then added Heat and Stick Powder, melted it with the Heat Tool, poured on Orange Stampin’ Glitter, then heat set the glitter with the Heat Tool. The chevron arrow is from A Banner Christmas, and I used the same steps for it, except using Black Stampin’ Glitter.
I’m not sure if you can see the detail behind “happy halloween”. I stamped the skeleton from Toil & Trouble in Basic Gray, then stamped “happy halloween” on top of the skeleton and cut out the sentiment by hand. It gives it just a little something extra.
I hope you like the card. You can buy all of the supplies I used in my online Stampin’ Up! store, 24/7.
Today is the last day to sign up as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for $25! Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity! You can email me for more information, or just go sign up at the link.

Whew, we are having a week here at the Fleming house! Last Friday I woke up with a scratchy throat, and everything went downhill from there. By Saturday night it was a sore throat, and I was exhausted. By Sunday I had a full-blown head cold. I tortured myself twice with the sinus wash (it does work, no matter how terrified I am of it), and now I’m down to a really bad cough. In the meantime, my daughter picked it up. So we’re all stir-crazy and cranky from lack of sleep and exercise. Thank goodness for paper crafts, or I’d be mildly insane right now.
Anyway, I made another Halloween card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. For some reason I can’t stop playing with Toil & Trouble.
I decided to make a quick and easy one this time, for the above mentioned reason of nasty head cold. I hope you like it! You can find all the products I used to make the card in my online Stampin’ Up! store.

Here’s the sketch:
I am loving the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit Stampin’ Up! introduced in the Holiday Catalog. I recently held a class to make the “spooky” banner from the catalog sample that uses the Halloween Accessory Kit. But as I started making my sample to show my class participants, I really got into it, and my banner turned out a little different. And you can make yours however you want, too.
Here are a few close-ups of the flags.
The Halloween Accessory Kit comes with the pre-scored paper to make 4 rosettes, but I wanted rosettes on all 6 of my flags, so I made 2 more out of the Witches’ Brew paper. Love this paper.
That ribbon is the Pumpkin Pie Chevron Ribbon — I just cut it in half lengthwise.
I stamped the big stamp from the Toil & Trouble stamp set on the Basic Gray flag in the same color of ink. Just for extra texture. My favorite part of this flag (besides One-Eyed Willie) is the Witches’ Brew washi tape.
I had so much fun making this banner (and another one that I made for a baby shower) that I’m already making plans for a “boo” banner and a “fall” banner and a “thankful” banner and a “merry” banner and… Well, you get the idea.
You can buy your Build a Banner Kit and the Halloween Accessory Kit in my online Stampin’ Up! store.
