Hey, there! I don’t mean to overwhelm you today, but I have FIVE new cards for you today (in five separate posts). Hopefully this will make up for my not posting at all last week! As I have mentioned in my live videos the last couple of weeks, I am on the Creative Crew over at Splitcoaststampers for May through August. If you’re not aware, the Creative Crew is a design team made of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators meant to inspire other people to make beautiful paper projects. So on the first day of the month, starting today, I will drop five posts on you, as there are five Creative Crew challenges each month. I was so excited and humbled to be asked, and I hope that my projects over the next four months will inspire you!
My first project is for the sketch challenge. I could not make my brain use the sketch as it is, so I flipped it on its side. I chose a circle and popsicles as my shapes.
I stamped all these sweet popsicles directly on the Powder Pink card base (new In Color, coming June 1 for customers or May 2 — tomorrow — for demonstrators!), three stamps for each popsicle. The sticks are all Crumb Cake, and then each popsicle is stamped once in the solid popsicle stamp and once for the stripes — I used the same color for the solid stamp and the stripes. I used Berry Burst (also a new In Color), Lemon-Lime Twist (new In Color), Powder Pink, and Pool Party for my popsicles.
I was surprised at how different the Powder Pink and Lemon-Lime Twist popsicles look on the card base versus the ones that are die cut, because the die cut ones are stamped on Whisper White. I almost went back and stamped the die cut ones again on Powder Pink cardstock, but I decided I liked having the different look on the die cut ones so they stand out a little more.
I put Wink of Stella all over the card base popsicles. For the die cut popsicles, I first went over the stripes with the Fine Tip Glue Pen, which really pulls the color out! Then between the stripes I used Wink of Stella.
On the sentiment circle, I first stamped “You’re” in Lemon-Lime Twist, then I used markers to ink up just the word “SWEET” from the stamp in Cool Treats that says “I hope your day is as sweet as you are”. I stamped it over and over in the four colors. I mounted the Stitched Shapes circle on a Lemon-Lime Twist scalloped circle (cut using the Layering Circles framelits).
The SWEET is stamped in Berry Burst.
So this card uses three of the new In Colors — Powder Pink, Berry Burst, and LL Twist. Which is your favorite of these three? I actually love every one of the five new In Colors, but Berry Burst and LL Twist are my very favorites.
