Hey! This is one of the projects we did at my team meeting this week. I really loved the stamp set that came with the October Paper Pumpkin — the sentiments are fantastic, so I wanted to use this for other projects besides the awesome shaker cards that came in the kit.
I pulled my sketch from the Global Design Project sketch challenge.
I love using someone else’s sketch as a jumping off point. It makes the card design come together so much faster.
I knew I wanted to use these two pieces of paper from the Be Merry designer series paper (this is part of the DSP sale that ends Tuesday). These are two of my favorite sheets from that paper. I also wanted to use another color, and I’ve always loved Cherry Cobbler and Pink Pirouette together, so I chose that. I added three drops of Pink Pirouette ink to about a teaspoon of embossing paste, then spread it over the card through one of the Pattern Party Decorative Masks with one of the Palette Knives. After the paste dried, I glued down the paper strips.
I die cut the snowflake with the Trim Your Stocking thinlits (that’s my favorite snowflake this year — I use it all the time!), then colored a White Perfect Accent with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends marker (those are available Wednesday). I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out with a Stitched Shapes circle. Finally, I made a tiny bow out of Whisper White Baker’s Twine and curled the ends and added it to the card.
Thanks for stopping by today! Everything I used on my card can be found in my online Stampin’ Up! store (the Stampin’ Blends markers will be available to customers November 1st — three days!). Make sure to use the October Host Code (below), and I’ll send you extra goodies!
