Stamp Ink Paper: Blended Garden Girl

Good morning! I hope you’re all doing well. I’m honored to have been asked to join the Stamp, Ink, Paper design team as their Guest Designer for the month of February!

This week’s challenge is “Cabin Fever” — warm weather cards. We are getting ready to plant our garden next month, so I knew exactly where to go with this card.

Stampin' Up! Garden Girl with Eastern Beauty and Stampin' Blends alcohol marker - handmade friend card - Sarah Fleming - Prepare to Dye Papercrafts

Isn’t she just adorable? This was my first time playing with the Garden Girl stamp set. I just love her! One thing, though: She comes without a nose. I’m totally creeped out by this, so I had to draw one in. I drew it in with my Black Stampin’ Write Marker (the Stampin’ Markers are water-based, so they won’t smear with the Stampin’ Blends, which are alcohol markers).

The card base is Calypso Coral, and the scene and the girl are both done on regular Whisper White cardstock. I colored the rhinestones (before taking them off the sheet) with the Light Bermuda Bay Blends marker. I first stamped everything in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored it with the Stampin’ Blends. Here are the colors I used:

Hair – Bronze, Light Pumpkin Pie, Dark Daffodil Delight
Hair bows – Light and Dark Pool Party
Dress – Light and Dark Calypso Coral, Light Bermuda Bay
Basket – Bronze, Dark Pumpkin Pie
Carrots – Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie, Light Old Olive on the greens
Skin – Ivory, Bronze
Boots – Light and Dark Pool Party
Flowers – Light and Dark Calypso Coral, Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler, Light and Dark Rich Razzleberry, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Old Olive
Butterfly – Light and Dark Bermuda Bay
Sky – Light Pool Party

I snipped the girl out after I colored her, then popped her up on Dimensionals. The sentiment comes from Eastern Beauty and is cut out with the Stitched Shapes framelits.
