Good morning! How are things? Things here are WONDERFUL. It’s legit COLD in Texas, which means I am out of hibernation and grinning ear to ear! I love the cold. Love, love, love, love it. If there’s an opposite of Seasonal Affective Disorder, that’s me when it gets cold. My husband likes the cold, too, because that means he doesn’t have to hear me whine about the air trying to suffocate me for the next five or so months. Anyway…
Today we have a sketch challenge over at Stamp, Ink, Paper. I love how the whole design team interpreted the sketch differently. That’s what makes a sketch challenge fun! We’d love for you to play along this week, so head over to the blog and join in!
I made a clean and simple card! Can you believe it? Me either. Look at all that white space! I started this card by stamping the tree from the Snow is Glistening stamp set. I mounted it in my Stamparatus after lining it up with the Whisper White cardstock (which measures 4″ x 5-1/4″). I sponged on Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape, and Melon Mambo, then I huffed on the stamp to make sure all the ink colors were still wet. I stamped, then did a second layer, because if I sponge the color onto the stamp, the colors usually come out a little bit lighter, and I wanted these colors to be bold. I lined up the tree base and mounted that in the Stamparatus, too. I wanted to make sure I had room for my sentiment under the tree, so I made the tree base shorter by mounting it higher, then covering the bottom of the tree with washi tape so only about half of the base would be stamped on the card. Then I inked it in Melon Mambo and stamped it.
I lined up the sentiment (from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set) and stamped it in Coastal Cabana. I wanted to use one of the darling Snowflake Trinkets on the card, and as it so happens, the snowflake perfectly lines up with one of the snowflakes on the tree! So I glue dotted that down, then added Glitter Enamel Dots in all three colors as ornaments on the trees. I mounted the Whisper White piece on a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Coastal Cabana, then added that to the Melon Mambo card base, which is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″.
Inside the card, I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape and the snowflakes in Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana on a piece of Whisper White. All of the stamps inside the card are from Snow Is Glistening.
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day!
