Hello! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. We are being highlighted by the wonderful Kylie Bertucci, and you can VOTE for my card. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop at the end of the month, so please do go vote for me. I’d love to be in the top 10 blog hop again this month!
Today’s card is a technique-y card. I was playing with the new Dear Doily bundle (available to demonstrators now and to customers on January 3rd), and I got a little carried away. #sorrynotsorry I am also sneak-peeking several other Occasions Catalog / Sale-A-Bration things.
My card base is Mint Macaron, 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″. The Lovely Lipstick cardstock on top of that is 4″ x 5-3/8″.
For my background, I used a piece of Glossy White Cardstock — you can do so many fun techniques with glossy cardstock. I first rubbed the Embossing Buddy all over the glossy cardstock, stamped several doilies in Versamark, then heat embossed the doilies with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool. Then I used the Ink, Spray, & Smash technique (I have a video using this technique here) with Real Red, Granny Apple Green, and Mint Macaron reinkers, which made this into an emboss resist piece. One of the coolest things about glossy cardstock is that you never know what the colors are going to look like when used on this cardstock. The Real Red came out looking very much like Lovely Lipstick. I cut the background out with one of the new Stitched Rectangles framelits (coming January 3rd).
I cut a doily out of Lovely Lipstick cardstock, cut the “thanks” out of Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets (a Sale-A-Bration freebie, coming January 3rd!) using a die from the new Well Written framelits, and added a piece of the new Whisper White Flax Ribbon (coming January 3rd) between them.
Thanks for visiting my blog today; I hope you like my card and that it brightened up your day! Make sure you head over to Kylie’s blog to vote for my card and check out the other amazing projects in the gallery. I would love to be chosen to do the next international blog hop!
Everything I used on my card can be found in my online Stampin’ Up! store (see full supply list at the bottom of this post — sneak peek products can be found in my store on January 3rd). Make sure to use the December Host Code (below) if your order is below $150, and I’ll send you extra goodies! If your order is over $150, don’t use the Host Code — make sure to claim your Stampin’ Rewards when you check out, and you’ll still get my free gift!
