Hello! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. We are being highlighted by the wonderful Kylie Bertucci, and you can VOTE for my card. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop later this month, so please do go vote for me. I’d love to be in the top 10 blog hop again next month!
This month’s theme is Encouragement, so I made this card knowing it can be used for a number of encouraging occasions, anything that comes with a celebration. New baby, retirement, new house, a new adventure… I used the new How Sweet It Is suite from the Occasions catalog to make my card.
I started with a Granny Apple Green card base, 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. I cut out the Pineapple Punch cardstock with one of the Rectangle Stitched framelits (I’m sorry, I forgot to measure which one — it’s a medium-sized one?). Then I stamped little candies all over it in Pineapple Punch ink. The Sweetest Thing stamp set is so adorable! I glued the Pineapple Punch piece down to the card base, then cut a piece of 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ How Sweet It Is paper. This is my very favorite paper in the new catalog! I glued that down, then got to work on the jar of candy.
I stamped the jar in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Stampin’ Blends. I colored the top and bottom of the jar with Light and Dark Bermuda Bay Blends, alternating the Light and Dark rather than blending them. Then I colored in the candies with Pineapple Punch Dark, Highland Heather Light and Dark, and Granny Green Light and Dark Blends. I colored the see-through part of the jar with Light and Dark Pool Party Blends, careful not to color over the candies. I die cut the jar with the matching die, and before I added it to the card with Dimensionals, I slipped in some 1/2″-inch strips of Whisper White and Melon Mambo cardstock behind where the jar was going. I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape on a 1/2″-inch strip of Whisper White, then trimmed it down and added it to the card with Dimensionals. I finished off the card with Glitter Enamel Dots. I think it’s safe to say these are my official favorite embellishments.
