Simply Thankful Scrapbooking Page

Good afternoon! I know I have been quiet — I am still in the process of moving my craft room to what will soon be known as the playcraftroom, as I will now be sharing a room with my kids (pray for me and my cardstock) so we can move the baby to a crib. Anyway, I somehow managed to make something this week for our Third Thursdays Blog Hop. This month our projects are all about memory keeping. I made a 12″x12″ scrapbook page.

Scrapbooking is my first love and my favorite papercrafting. Once my new playcraftroom is done, I plan to make fewer cards and make more scrapbooks. Otherwise, I will never catch up on my kids’ baby books! I prefer to make traditional scrapbook pages over any other pages.

This page starts with a 12″x12″ piece of Terracotta Tile cardstock. I added some Woven Threads designer series paper for a background. I cut a piece to 10″x9″, then cut the paper into five strips, 2″ wide. The two designs shown are opposite sides of the same piece of paper.

The photo mats are for 4″x6″ photos. I cut Whisper White cardstock to 4-1/4″x6-1/4″, then added 4-1/8″x6-1/8″ pieces of the gingham Pretty Peacock paper (this is from the 2019-2021 In Color 6″x6″ DSP stack).

After my paper was all glued down, I stamped one of the texture stamps from the Tasteful Textures stamp set all along the bottom of the page using Terracotta Tile ink for tone-on-tone stamping. The scratchy design on the stamp goes really well with the distressed/vintage look of the Woven Threads paper.

The two flourishes are cut from Whisper White cardstock using the Flourish dies.

The color in this photo is off, but I love this little corner of the page. I stamped the sentiment, from the Country Home stamp set, in Pretty Peacock ink and cut it out with a Stitched Rectangles die.

To finish off the page, I added a bow made of Pretty Peacock 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon and some In Color Faceted Dots.

I hope you like my scrapbook page and are inspired to make your own! Mine goes with my house colors, so I think I’m going to hang it in my livingroom in a shadowbox. Make sure you hop all the way around and see the other great projects the team has for you! There are only 3 this time, so you can zip through!

  1. Such a wonderful scrapbook page layout, Sarah! You’re amazing! I just recently moved my craft room, too – sharing video gaming space with my teenager! Definitely adds to the challenges of creating! ;)

  2. Nice! I love how you used all those coordinating 2019-2021 In Color products together.
And, best of luck using your playcraftroom…my days of little kiddos are long gone, but I well remember the challenge of crafting AND keeping an eye on the kids at the same time.
Thanks for sharing your project :-D
